Low tier trading worth?

There is almost no point in trying to trade up from under 10 keys, as bots have total domination over almost anything below that. Painted cosmetics were an option, but now we're starting to see paint bots crop up / there's a lot of people already trying that which makes it difficult to compete. Spells on any half-decent cosmetic will cost well above 3 keys now, so spell trading under 10 keys is too slow to be worth it.

Invest some money into the game for keys to start at like 20 pure if you really want to get into trading, it's $30-$35 USD to skip 6 months of effort and get into the range where you'll make more than a few refined / half a key per trade in profit.

proving the current trend in backpack.tf. Drawing a parallel with the real world, it is worth noting how easily "rich and famous" politicians can get rid of competitors without consequences through the action of their authority, often bought. Due to their "authority" and "success".

This is why you can't low tier trade anymore.

Technically its possible to trade up with 3 keys but your looking at a length of time not worth dealing with.

It would be a better idea to go cut some neighbors lawn for (45 min) to gain 10$ to buy another 5-6 keys and start with 8-9 keys. Even starting with 8-9 keys would not be worth the time, at that point it would still be better to cut a few more yards to make some more $$ and buy up a starting amount of a 25 keys. At 25 keys is when you can start being effect with trading even if its still slow.

if it brings you joy to communicate with people and swap items without profiting then yeah sure go for it but if you have profit in mind then dont bother

I find low-tier trading to be a lot of fun. It's like the wild west of trading, where's there's a huge variety of items to trade with and buy. If you're looking to trade as a hobby, low-tier can be very fun, but if you wanna be serious about it, I recommend starting with 20-25 keys, and unusual/spell trade.
