Price suggestions

Hey, So I used to do some price suggestions and participate in voting on them, alot of people used to do that. But now I see like hardly even 200 votes on a suggestion, How can we make people do more voting or even suggestions, to me people knowing and participating would be something nice.

And I wanted to try doing suggestions myself but back when I used to do it, outpost was a thing and was a good source of proof for suggestions.

Is there a guide or someone willing to make one about how to do Price suggestions at current time, With the sites we have. also what people should look out for when voting for an item price change.

Too many items have out-dated price and many are not even priced, It would be good for community if people took some effort to simply make 1-2 suggestions a day and vote of ongoing suggestions.

Please send link of the guide if it's already there! I'd like to do my part in helping community. =D

There are a lot more suggestions now when you compare them to your old times. It's not only about participating and voting but it also takes a lot of time to check all of them when there are many open for a new price. So I guess that's why you don't see 200 votes on a suggestion like you said.

If there's an unusual on active suggestions for 23 days with like 160 votes, is it the same thing?

I'm just saying it would be nice to get more people involved in it. What's the harm? I see a limited number of people who do the suggestions, as you said it takes alot of time and there are alot more suggestions to do, why not have more people do it.

sales of tons of different items happen non-stop, without increasing suggestions how will people catch up to all unpriced items .-. halloween Christmas might give new crates and ye that'll be added to the unpriced collection .-.

I just don't think people care enough to vote most of the time. Suggestions only show up on the front page for a short time before they get bumped off which means you have to go out of your way to search for suggestions and vote. If the person voting cares about accuracy, it also requires effort to go through the suggestion to verify the price. I know personally I pretty much only vote on unusuals when I do vote as I don't care enough about most other items to bother going through the suggestions.

 

As for why you normally see suggestions from the same handful of people, it comes down to the fact that it takes time and effort to make a good suggestion. I don't think most people want to go out of their way to do a price suggestion for hat they're not dealing with. You also essentially need premium in order to search for sales to use. As a collector I typically only bother with pricing the hat I collect. I actively watch the market so I have knowledge of what the market is like and I have a vested interest in making sure the different effects have accurate price as that knowledge informs me what I should be offering when I go to buy one.

 

For unpriced/outdated pricing, it comes down to either people not caring enough or there not being enough sales. Look at non-all class taunts as an example. Most have more than a handful of unpriced effects because most people don't really care enough to take the time to price them. You also run into cases where you try to price a hat only to find the recent sales are a mess to dig through and the sales that are clear point to the value not changing. Not really worth the time to try to price it.
