Aside from keys, what should I trade for if I just want to sell it on steam's marketplace?

was going to sell just random skins but the ones that I was looking into at least don't sell super frequently

should I just be saving ref for mann co keys, or are there better/equivalent items I can trade scrap/ref for to make a good steam profit

don't care too much about real life trading, just doing this to buy some more games on the side since steam money has a lower value than real money meaning these sell for a lot more on steam marketplace

Tools like paints, tickets, and such tend to sell as fast as keys on the SCM.

One thing to keep in mind though is that your profits on trades will be literal fractions of a penny until you actually reach or choose to invest $25-30 or so in capital, thus making working at a job far more time-efficient and profitable than trading at the scrap level.

Oh I get that, this just means saving some extra money with the only requirement being playing or (when I'm using my computer for something else that isn't super intensive) AFKing for stuff to trade up until I can sell an item for a buck or 2

just pocket change to buy things like DLC and cheap games

don't do this. if youre trying to scrapbank, you could literally collect soda cans from the trash for more profit.

9 weps = 1 ref, and 1 key is ~59.33, meaning you would need 534 weapons. for one key.

Once again, don't do it. you'll have more fun watching paint dry.

factory new skins sell well, especially if not a common civilian or mercenary, and a decently popular pattern.

australiums move well everywhere, but difficult to make monster profits on them, they mostly store value.

finding underpriced items on S.C.M. is just free money, although I guess my constant preaching about this is working, since I don't see as many ez bargains now.

skin flippin kinda neat, buy orders are low, sell orders are high, might take a couple days, but it's working, made 35+ euroes in 2.5-ish weeks doing this. If a skin doesn't sell at all i will just dump it on a trading site, or auction it, buy other stuff with that pure and put it out on market.
