Poll: Best/Worst Case-Era Unusual Effect Sets

Was wondering what a poll like this would end up looking like so I made it for the fuck of it, rate your favorite and least favorite unusual effect set from the "case era".

 

Scream Fortress VIII / 2016 (the one with the starstorms) is excluded just because those effects could be obtained on non-case hats, so it's more like an old-era set rather than a case-era one.

Assuming we're just talking hat effects:

• Summer 2020 - Pretty good set. Some bangers and some misses
• Summer 2021 - Average set
• Scream Fortress VII (2015) - Worst effects in this set are average, really decent set
• Scream Fortress X (2018) - Orb is the only effect I dislike, bone fountains are okay and the rest is all awesome. Best set
• Scream Fortress XI (2019) - Smoke effects rule, rest is stuff that looked cool until seen in game. Slightly above average set
• Scream Fortress XII (2020) - There is nothing in here that compels me to unbox or go shopping. Worst set
• Smissmass 2019 - Nothing too good in here, bad set
• Smissmass 2020 - A few underwhelming when in game effects, the rest were boring from the getgo. Sad set
• Invasion Update - Not really stoked on this set but it's okay. Average set

Honestly? I've never enjoyed SF 2015. I think all the effects are just, boring. The one interesting effect is too small for what you pay, but it does help that the hats in the case are so good.

 

2018 Halloween is GOATed though. My favourite effect release period, not just in cases.

If only those effects could be on old hats and weren't so sparse on hats not in that specific case. I'd drop 4 digits for a Kabuto with any of the 3 cloud effects from that series.

Scream Fortress X is awesome with new moon effects (The Dark Doorway, Galactic Gateway, Eldritch Opening)

 

Scream Fortress XII is trash with very unexciting effects.
