Pro KS on an action slot?

Can't find anything on this idea anywhere.

If you have a blank professional killstreak kit and use it on an action slot item, would you get the eye effects from it? Would it work similar to demoman's shields where you get the eye effect no matter what item you're holding, or would the effect only show when you use the action slot item?

Universal killstreak kits don’t count kills, the only one that can is the Spellbook Magazine.

The spellbook magazines with killstreak kits applied were created with universal killstreak kits. So yes, they DO count kills.

Theoretically the Contracker is capable of showing the eye effect, as no action slot item will show the effect passively like shields/mantreads/etc, but any item that's being held in your hand will, and the Contracker is technically your actively held item when you use it.

Only like 50/50 on that though, I don't know that it counts as being "active" even when you have it out in-game.

The ConTracker could maybe work, since mission progress triggers both visual and auditory effects.

However it does count kills, even when you don't have it equipped.. So maybe it doesn't need to be active to do all that?

And even if it does work, it might only do so when you have a mission active.

So who knows?..

I don't even think Source-Daddy Shounic himself could answer that with 100% confidence.

Shounic hits different to me now (fuck ton of discord drama that i was semi-involved in lol)

Also doubt anyones going to make a ConTracker, it seems to be pretty useless now that valve has given up on tf2 and we don't get new contracts

Is there a reason it wouldn't work passively?

I actually asked Shounic and he said he has no clue. I'm not even sure how to test this without dropping cash on a blank kit and using it on a Contracker.
