Price Check: Strange Unusual Brim of Fire with Purple Energy effect

I Unboxed this in the cosmetic case and some guy sent me an offer for 20 keys but I keep seeing people try to sell it for 100 keys. Advice on how I should price mine would be very appreciated.

Purple Energy is a solid effect, typically selling on the higher end. And your hat is strange adding some good value.

 

I wouldn't accept that persons offer, keep looking for better offers. I'm sure you'll find one. They are extremely lowballing you

So if I said that I accepted a trade that had 40 keys for the unusual, would that mean I got scammed? Or is that a good price?

I mean... Maybe I'm missing something but majority of the mercenary grade unusuals with purple/green energy go for like 25-30 keys unless they are sought after hats (Like Sophisticated Smoker), which in this case I don't think it is.

 

It being strange definitely adds value and you got a pretty bad deal, wouldn't say its a shark though, especially with new unusual prices being up in the air and entirely open to interpretation.

 

The original 20 key offer was definitely sus though and its probably proof enough on its own, given its under buy orders for non-strange PE brim of fire. You should provide a screenshot of it.

The exception here is that the case is still relatively new and this is definitely one of the better effects freshly unboxed and its strange. I'm comfortable saying this could've gone for at least 50 keys.

3rd-gen effects for the brim of fire are going for 40-ish keys at the current moment. maybe it wont be as much of a shark when hype dies down, but it definitely is for now

This is one of the higher tiered hats from the update. Both low tier effects and high tier effects are selling for higher. Plus it's strange.

TO BE FAIR, while what he did is obviously shady and I am sorry for your loss, you had all the time in the world to ask around for the price of your hat. You're new to the trading scene so asking question regarding certain things to understand the market better should be your priority, so I don't understand why did you ask for the price check of this hat AFTER you accepted the trade and not before?
