Sweckd
It's been a while since i've traded (around 5-6 years), and it's quite clear that the economy is very different now! Really miss tf2outpost HAHA also I bought myself around 23 keys and wanted to get back into trading, but are there any advice you could give to start trading in 2021? From what I know, Discord servers are quite useful for trading now. Also have a couple of spelled items but feels like i'm not valuing them correctly. Apologise if this isn't the right place to ask! gameygame6
You can profit off of almost any kind of item if you have knowledge. Your best bet would be to try out all kinds of different trading styles, from quick flips to sniping to scm, and see what's the best for you. As for what kinds of items you'll want to go after ideally, open markets would be your best bet there. Try going for items without many competitors - you'll learn to identify which items will sell best with time and experience. Knowing what the item has sold for in the past is also very useful, always pay attention to past price suggestions and sales to see if the item you're looking at is overpriced. Best of luck, and remember that trading isn't for everyone; it's hardly viable as a source of income, so don't be afraid to quit if trading isn't your thing. Sweckd
Appreciate the advice Just want to trade for fun and ideally profit and was thinking of even spending even more money to get keys to start from an unusual around 60 keys, but not sure if that would be ideal now after hearing your advice haha i'll stick around and see other people's advice
Brown
That's the gist of it, what they said. Try everything, learning the details is a matter of experience. If you find some server friends who are doing what is described above you can ask more specific questions.
Spyromancer
You really can't compete with bot traders, especially not with only 23 keys. Buy what you like for a good price and sell it when it exceeds what it's worth to you or you are only going to be disappointed.
