walmart
I bought 8 keys and have 2 right now, they become tradable next Wednesday. I was thinking of buying a kill a watt unusual but some people said that no one is gonna buy it and others said that it’s gonna sell quickly. I usually trade with spec ks items and I’ve never really touched unusual trading. This is my first time trying to make profit with unusuals. I’m aiming to make around 1 key in profit every trade.(hopefully) Is it possible?
ajdislikesyournamingpolicy
It'll probably be tough to make 1 key profit per trade at 10 key capital because bots probably have a smaller margin than that. Keep trading and trying stuff that works for you. If you keep making profit with spec ks items, then profit up to about 20 keys and then delve deeper into unusual trading. Obviously that's were it gets a lot more profitable.
Scott Bakula
Profit is possible, but don't expect margins like that right out of the gate. Your biggest obstacle's going to be that you'll have nearly all your capital invested in a solitary item, so if you make a wrong move, it will hurt (eggs, basket, and so forth). This also means it's important to recognize when to cut your losses, sell at a loss, and try again, as while that item's not selling, you're completely dead in the water. Whereas if you have multiple items you're selling, you can afford to have some be slow sales as you're still maintaining inertia in profit. As for what unusual to get to start with, I'd say get one that you'd personally want to wear. That way, worst case scenario, you still have an item you can enjoy and use. walmart
Ok, now I’ll probably just buy a nice unusual for my self and sell it for a bit more. Hopefully the bots don’t screw me over. Thanks for the replies guys.
Flamadin
Try and get a hat where no one else is selling that exact hat with that exact effect.
LSO
To add to the above comments, don't aim for a key profit per trade (10% roi out of the gate), but aim for 5% or something along those lines. I don't know what spreads are like with items these days but that is the mentality I'd suggest.
Mariogeek2
TBH I would probably recommend steering clear of unusual cosmetics right now. The cheapest ones are going to be, at the lowest, about 6 keys. That is going to be a significant chunk of your capital invested in something that's going to, IMHO, be very hard to liquidate for anything above bot buy order price. My suggestion would be to trade in something cheaper right now while you learn more about trading. Something like unique/genuine/vintage cosmetics or skins (although they can be hard to liquidate) maybe. Once you've gotten more experience and capital, then would be a better time to break into the unusual sphere. However, if profit is not your main motivation, it might not be such a bad idea to buy it, especially if that bot is the only one selling it and it's not more than about 0.6 keys higher than buy orders. Unusuals that low are unlikely to resell higher or go up in price but the flip side of that coin is true as well (atleast in my experience) - the price is very unlikely to crash and buy orders are unlikely to dip more than a key in price, so if you plan on ever reselling for cash you probably wouldn't lose more than 20% of initial investment. IDK, dude, I'm not sure what your entire thought processes are and if you'd like that or not, so you do you.
Slam
To be honest one of the best ways to make some fairly easy money at that low of an amount of pure is buying/selling spelled items - especially MISCS with Footprints spells. The several times I paid 10-20 keys for a footprints cosmetic only to sell it a week later I managed to sell them at a 3-6 key profit in under 2 days. It's a little harder now since BP.TF has search-by-spell, so it's less common for you to find that rare hidden gem cosmetic that has footprints for cheap, but it's still perfectly viable if you have patience and a little luck.
