Reggie
Hello! I am writing my thesis on the TF2 economy (more specifically elasticity). I was wondering if people can fill out this survey here: https://forms.gle/4F2D7Xfvor9Svuoa9 The results of the survey will help with my data collection, and analysis. Thank you! AnarKey
Good survey. The question about the average value of items traded is kinda hard to answer though. Maybe allowing multiple choices of ranges at which you trade would have been more relevant. Cause personally I would have selected yes to all, though I know it's not the case for everyone, since ofc some people are just getting started, and some others won't touch anything under a certain value. Ended up picking 51-75 as an "average" but I feel like it doesn't necessarily represent the whole range of my experience. Also don't think there's much difference between say 26-50 and 51-75, both are what I would call mid tier. Like everyone else, would love to see the end result! LSO
You need to amend your thesis if you're including pricing. Keys are not increasing in price; refined/metals are decreasing in value.
∑dsel
Done. Most of my answers were personal enough it looks like I didn't care but don't get me wrong I just wanted to be honest.

Keys are not increasing in price; refined/metals are decreasing in value. I am aware that Keys are bound to its set price of $2.50 from the Mann Co. Store, with transactions going for around $2 in other places such as Marketplace. The pricing question about Keys was more in so related to Ref and Price Elasticity of Demand for new traders. It's clear that the relationship here is inelastic, but I thought obtaining responses would be useful for my research. I know I should have been more specific with the questions which I appologise. I know that for high-tier unusual traders, this inelastic demand between Ref and Keys doesn't mean much, which I definitely will point out in my thesis with evidence from the form responses. I'm no economics major but I think the elasticity you're describing can be seen in ref price relative to tf2 playercount over the years. Might not have much to do with the questions on your survey but it's what I picture the best example of elasticity being. I'm repeating what I've heard personally, that tf2 goods in general are going up, ref is going down, playercount higher than ever are all correlated. I've never seen it explained thoroughly though, might be good for what you're doing.
