Scrap.tf - how to control which particular item it trades

I normally just sell any duplicate random drop weapons I get to scrap.tf.    I open the window to choose which weapons to trade and select the first one, the most recent drop will be at the top of my backpack.  

 

But when the trade happens it seems to take a different one, for example the one on page 5 rather than page 1.  But I don't think it always does this. <-- can anyone confirm this?

 

Is there any way to control which one it takes??  Id prefer it takes the top one so that I don't have to resort my backpack and put them lower down again.

And if you cannot control it is there any possibility it will take a more valuable wrong one?  For example what if I had say a killstreak version of the same weapon further down my backpack, could it accidentally take that one?

It should only take the exact item you select. Not a different version

After a bit of experimentation I have come to realise that the order scrap.tf shows your backpack is not the same order as your actual backpack.   You might have 2 identical items, one on page 1 and one on page 10, and it doesn't necessarily put the item on page 1 first in the list it displays.
