villain Posted December 9, 2020 Share Posted December 9, 2020 My take is the following: Demand for keys is high while a lot of people keep crafting weapons to refined. Unlimited supply of weapons for metal made the price go up because everyone traded them for keys. Price keeps going up because the ones selling keys realises everyone has pretty much unlimited quantity of weapons / metal and will pay more and more. FishtheFish Posted December 9, 2020 Share Posted December 9, 2020 I'm not sure why the surprise; refined metal has always been dropping and is theoretically infinite in supply. Additionally, valve is a business and not a government, so they have no incentive to help refined metal retain value by adding a metal sink- it is more beneficial to them if you pay real money and use a premium currency (like keys).
