Tonight's Flood of Cheap Painted Items

I may have just not noticed this but it seems that tonight bazaar.tf has just been flooded with low balling painted hat sell orders.

The strangest part is that the backpack.tf prices are all considerably higher that the bots are willing to buy for on the classifieds. Makes it awfully deceiving for newer players.

Example 1

Example 2

Example 3

And you are telling us what? BP prices at the end of the day are for reference, not a bible that you must follow at all times. From what I see, these people are just selling higher than what other painted cosmetic buyers pay, so not a lowball at all. If you wanna report them for sharking newer traders, then please do provide proof.

Cheers

Ok, so first off example 1 and example 3 are the exact same.

Also in all of these examples that you are showing there are no painted items such as, Hue, Tinge, Team spirit, Pink, Lime, etc. Just a bunch of crappy generally undesirable paints which are typically not bought by people on backpack.tf unless its only something like an extra 1-2 refined. Honestly not sure why you made this post.

Low balling sell orders, not sure what that means. A person selling their items, can list them for whatever they want. This is FAR from sharking, there is nothing decieving about those posts at all. If you want something they are selling and think the price is too high then negotiate with them, if they dont want to negotiate then they dont have to. Also sharking does not really happen with sellers it happens with buyers, and they would need to be activley looking for unsuspecting players for it to be considered sharking. Simply leaving a low buy order on some website isnt what I would consider sharking.

The part that is deceiving is that if you hover the items on the bazaar.tf website, you get a recommended price (lets say 7.33 refined) and the asking price is usually in the ball park (7.55) and the descriptions are usually "Selling these for bp prices" but then if you look in the classifieds, all the buy orders are maybe 3.77-4 refined for the same hat. The hardest part is that the classifieds are listed with a black or white paint and a note in the description saying the prices for other paints.

Backpack has reccomended prices for painted items which is the base price of the hat + 50% of the paint price or so but at the end of the day its whatever the person is willing to pay for the painted hat. You are mistaking the backpack price as the price of an unpainted hat, either way you should only be using backpack prices as a guideline. There is absolutley nothing deceptive going on here.

additionally, most buyers for paints are low anyways so those shoudnt be really used as a metric for whats high or not.
