centivanstuff
I'm a new trader, but I don't wanna spend money on the game. Any tips for starting off? Edit: thanks for the feedback, ill look into the f2p friendly options before making a decision about spending money. I loved the comment about the scams, definitely didn't think about that. Heidecker
I would recommend setting up your steam profile as a first step.
TripleMasterA
Immediately give up since you have a f2p account and tons of restrictions on trading.
Scott Bakula
You won't be able to start until you pay the dollar to become premium. After that, your trading options become toiling away for several hundred hours earning fractions of a cent at a time until you get somewhere, or investing 20-30 bucks and starting at the somewhere. Or you could just forgo trading entirely, by buying a key or two, then using them to get a decent cosmetic loadout for everyone, and call it good. Strange
Sorry to say but you won't be able to start trading till someone donates to you some tradable items. When you're F2P, all items obtained from drops are untradable. Also make sure you have Steam Guard or you'll have to wait 15 days every time you trade

This one is the one you should take seriously, the others are basically non guaranteed ways to get into trading and will most likely fail.

Bob the Unsymmetrical
Firstly, Put some time setting up your steam profile, so people won't immediately decline your friend requests or whatever when you add or offer them. 2ndly, Buy some stuff in the in game store to get premium, spend 5$ (I think) on items, buy KEYS or TICKETS! Don't buy anything else otherwise you will hate yourself in three months. 3rdly, befriend someone or some group good at trading and won't shark you for profit. Self explanatory, befriend someone who is good at trading. 4thly, Learn the scams, before you start stepping into the trading world, it is good to learn the different ways people scam and shark you for profit, learn the signs and avoid them, still unsure? Ask the friends you made in 3. Finally, Don't hesitate to find help, we may be trolls, but we like helping, don't hesitate to find us for help thanks. You need to spend $5 on Steam itself to get Steam's paid account features (adding friends, using the SCM, etc) and $1 on TF2 to get Premium But yeah, whatever you do do NOT buy cosmetics or weapons as they resell for a lot less when they become tradable, stick to keys and TOD Tickets
