How can i be that "Dead head" has suddenly surged in price, like in the last 5 days it went from 17-19 keys to low 24? meanwhile we see a steady increase in amount of exsisting numbers, currently at 1878 k something? hows it that valuable at 1879k in exsistance?

You have to take in the factors like how many people like it, as sometimes the value of a hat isn’t completely based off how rare it is, (most of the time it though).

true, but with the limited TF2 playerbase, 1878 is quite a % of the total playerbase

peak playercount near 100k means 200k daily uniques is likely a low estimate... if we throw in people who don't play daily its gonna be wildly higher (maybe even a million) dota has peaks around 700k, monthly uniques of over 7 million

so we're talking like a million monthly uniques and you're calling 2000 items 'quite a % of the playerbase'

where does these numbers come from? you are just wildly guessing, peak player count is 85,119 as of 01-09-2020, i get thats unique players, but i would assume most of the TF2 playerbase is returning players, so maybe its the same 80-90k players returning everyday?

https://steamcharts.com/app/440

last 30 days peak online simultaneously is just shy of 97k

last 30 days average 67k

if you seriously think that a peak is the total number of people who played the game that day, I'm not sure where we begin. I think somewhere around grade 5, but I have no interest in providing remedial elementary education.

Dota peaks can be observed here https://steamcharts.com/app/570

The monthly uniques for dota are listed here https://blog.dota2.com/?l=english

so we see about 700k in peak and >10 times that in monthly uniques

we see average about 450k so >15 time that in monthly uniques

CSGO peaks here https://steamcharts.com/app/730

Monthly uniques here https://blog.counter-strike.net/

so we see peaks almost 1million and >20 times that in monthly uniques

we see average about 650k and >30 times that in monthly uniques

using the low end (dota multipliers)

we get

97k * 10 = 970,000 monthly unique tf2 players

or

67k * 15 = 1,050,000 monthly unique tf2 players

as crude estimates

so you're looking at a dead head/playercount percentage of ~0.2%

so while you talk like you know anything, I have data.

Data that says, you are wrong.

How about the Strange Dead Head doe?

NONE currently available on S.C.M.

It’s very expensive, and it would make sense for it to sell out

so way up there someone comes in pretty hot with a 'you're just wildly guessing' and demands source data after being presented with a fact that doesn't support their arguement

now that they've been provided their source data and proven to be the one who is wildly guessing you're here to whine about the tone of the response?

just wow.

The drop chance for The Dead head is .50%, making it more rare than an unusual. Imagine getting that thing unusual....

Yas queen but technically the chance to get a good unusual effect may be lower than 0.50%

Not possible, for a good reason.
