LaughingLollipop
Some of these new effect suggestions getting made are just total trash... lets take a moment and think to ourselves Is it more reasonable than not that whoever (not me btw) spent $667 on a kaleidoscope breadcrab ~5 mins after it listed for sale on mp.tf is going to resell it? How can you say buy order sales are invalid and call 5 minutes a real price? Is it not just a tad bit counterproductive that you got this https://backpack.tf/suggestion/5f4d801d274cb2267c171adf posted up <1 minute after the sale happened? Site is rapidly becoming a race for a tiny group to wildly inflate/destroy the value of new items based on single sales Yeah maybe it gets rejected long term, maybe it is actually worth that, maybe its worth less; but it sure seems disingenuous and scummy to assign that value as its 'price' Why is it even possible to suggest a price on a new hat/effect <1 month after it comes out? Start a sales log and spam 'em after a cooldown if there aren't more sales
LaughingLollipop
couple more examples (apparently suggester self bought this) very similar time profile to above, was listed on mp.tf for <5 minutes prior to selling https://backpack.tf/suggestion/5f4d69b9f736ee0658211c9d sold in 2 minutes https://backpack.tf/suggestion/5f4d97f6e0480c23997aa5d7 guy is either a bot or has a blatant disregard for the rules about reasonable and quicksales

Strange
Inaccurate isn't better than no price, an Unusual price isn't the price you should update often (an unusual price is only outdated after 3 months of age) if it's inaccurate, it won't represent the market well, the mods and suggesters would have to waste even more time fixing it, might as well just wait for the prices to settle then make a more meaningful price
Toad
People are finally catching on to the fact that the price suggesting here, specifically for unusual hats, is garbage. There needs to be more time given so we can better evaluate hat prices. New hats aside, a big issue in this community is the notion that "if you didn't sell your unusual hat in 3-7 days, it MUST be worth a lot less than what it's currently being sold for" or similarly, "you've had it listed for lower than the current backpack.tf price for a few days so it must be worth less!" Both of these situations have been continually applied to a large amount of unusual hats and causing their prices to be useless. Do any unusual traders actually take even recent price suggestions as even slightly reliable? Of course not, none of us do. It's a joke. Pardon the slight off topic rant, just a bit frustrated with this over eagerness to suggest inaccurate prices on both new and old hats. Better guidelines and more understanding of the unusual market by suggestors ought to be done.
Woifi The Viking
Why aren't you posting a public comment on the suggestion with constructive critisimn where the suggester can fix their mistakes? Also none of those suggestions were accepted (yet). And if a mods accepts a suggestion like these with a comment disagreeing with it the mods should reply to it and explaining their point of view.
