Whenever I see a listing, usually it will have something like 3.55 refined metal, and For all I know, You either have Ref or you don't. someone please explain. I am new to trading.

1 ref = 9 scrap (1 scrap = 0,11 ref)

which means 3 ref and 5 scrap

and for advanced people, 1 ref = 3 rec (1 rec = 0.33 ref)

which also could mean

3 ref, 1 rec and 2 scrap

.05 =  1 unique weapon (not counting reskins)

.11 =  1 scrap

.33 = 1 reclaimed

1.00 = 1 refined

the easiest way to get 1.55 is

2 scrap, 1 rec, 1 ref

a lot of figuring out the decimals for refined purchases just requires knowledge what portion of 1 ref a single rec/scrap is worth and some basic math, it's a bit confusing when you start out, but it becomes second nature after some time
