(Unusual trading) Which hats are considered low-tier and which are high-tier?

Title.

Edit: My original paragraph was confusing, so I decided to rephrase it.

I was reading this post and was thinking what hats are considered "low tier" no one buys them, I know the general ones like Bombing Run for Scout and Topi for Sniper, but I am still not sure which hats are "low tier" according to the community. I hope this clears it up.

I'm confused, your title and description are asking for two different things? Are you asking about about price tier or liquidity tier? Although I suppose for both old Halloween and misc's are high up simply because no new ones and high demand.

I know you probably wouldn't trust my advice since I'm not really that big of a trader but from my experience, there isn't really a way to tell which hats sells good or hard. Some hats you that you think are amazing, might take weeks to sell.Though some low-tier,even,lets say,"ew hats" sell. It's like foods, different people and different tastes, and one other important element is luck, you might list the the hat right when the buyer scroll by,or when the buyer just feeling happy or whatever.Though,hardsell/easy sells can be recognised from experience.

Lets say,the Tundra Top or the Killer Exclusive, they are wanted by many people and sells pretty fast, and there are also many more hats that can sell easily. There are a bazillions of hats in TF2 so no one can tell which ones. And another tip, instead of only listing your unusual on backpack, link your backpack.tf to your Marketplace and list the hat on Marketplace because you can still list it on backpack.tf,this also increase the chance of your unusual getting sold without the buyer waiting.

Best wishes.

Yes, should have made it clearer what the hell I am talking about, I was in a rush when posting this.

I stumbled on this post cus I want to know which hats sell well and which doesn't.

So I just want to get some more input on which hats I should buy if I only want to resell it for profit (of course, effect matters but I already got a general idea for that.)

So let's take the hat I have for example: Starstorm Insomnia Powdered Practioneer. 2016 Halloween effect, pretty good. But the hat is 'hard to sell', which is why it is constantly sold for 16-20 keys. So, that prompted the question I asked. But I think is mainly effect that matters and less on the hat?

True effect matters more, but if you just go to bp's unusual price-list by class, you'll get a good idea of what is "low" and "high". Also always check sellers, some hats are incredibly outdated.

Better effects on worse hats in my experience do better because they tend to be more rare (less competition) so more profit margin potential. Some people just want the shiny effect.

Looking at robo effects: Roboactive, Antifreeze, Time Warp, and GBH are effects you can potentially make decent margin on as they aren’t super expensive, the market isn’t saturated, and they have become pretty popular. I will say the popularity has increased the prices of many of the hats over the last year or two, but the market is still reasonable, unlike Halloweens.
