Tips for unusual trading

I want to branch out into unusual trading, as of right now. I managed to not lose money, but will need some pointers from the experienced traders.

1) Which effects are the most desirable?

2) What is considered a QS?

3) If I buy an unusual close to bot B/Os, then is it easy to flip for a profit?

Cheers and have a nice day.

1. old halloween, end of the line, invasion, and robo effects, with some exceptions (mallard, eof, lantern, overclocked, memory leak, cbubbles) sell easiest.

2. an item priced low enough that it will sell quickly, that's all.

3. 95% of the time yes.

1) This is rather subjective, but EOTL (Frostbite, Death at Dusk, Morning Glory), Robo-effects (Anti-Freeze, Roboactive, Time Warp, Green Black Hole), Halloween effects that are hard to get, new unusual effects (when they freshly come out)

2) An unusual that is priced under the price it would normally sell well at in order to sell more quickly. Sellers can claim a hat is a "quicksell" to help sell hats they haven't sold in months/years, so interpret it at your own discretion.

3) Not always. Some unusuals have cut-throat margins that are not worth flipping, others might not be that popular.

EDIT: Forgot to mention that just because buy orders are "low", doesn't mean it won't sell well, the opposite is true (high buy orders don't always guarantee easy sales)

1) Everyone here is listing mostly expensive effects that can take weeks or months to sell for a profit. Sure it's good profits, but I don't understand where people get "these top tier effects sell easy!", because most of the time these old Halloween or Robo effects will sit at full B/O price for months before they sell. If you're trying to make steady profits, 9 times out of 10 it's more efficient and quicker to buy/sell high-demand low/mid tier effects such as the Energies, Blizz. Storm, H. Ghosts, Circling Heart, etc.

2) Compare "quicksell price" to buy orders. If they're close, then it's a quicksell. This doesn't really apply to rare or very high end hats as much, but for the lower and mid range, this is typically how you actually determine a quicksell. A lot of people (Zol for example) will put "QUICKSELLING" on every hat even if they're well above buy orders and 3 months unsold just because it's a buzzword that might help sell the hat.

3) At the very-high-end, yeah, because 2012-2013 Halloween effects / Bonzo will endlessly gain price until a total market collapse. I see hats with these effects get bought for 200-250 keys then get re-listed by a new user for 300, then a new one for 350, and etc, changing hands once every couple months and selling for full or near B/O price. But for virtually all hats below the very-high-end, you typically won't be able to flip full B/O unusuals for profit very easily, unless you but very high-tier hats with decent effects that have no other copies of itself on the market.
