I gave in after 2 hours of conversation. He gave me a fake code, and blocked all communication. I’m so frustrated with myself rn. Besides steam no longer restoring items, they put multiple warnings in each trade window that a person offering steam codes is most likely a scam and you assume all liability and do so at your own peril. Also, you should never take a person's own proof of legitimacy, but do your own research. A quick entering of this person's profile on rep.tf https://rep.tf/76561198156332886 shows that he is a marked scammer. That took 5 seconds to find out.
