Unusual appraisal

Hello! 

I just recently unboxed my first unusual and I am not sure exactly how to judge its value as I have not seen any of the same items in the listings here or on steam. Any tips from those who have been through this process before?

What you unboxed is an unusualifier. You apply it onto a regular taunt in order to give it a special effect. I would recommend that you apply it RIGHT AWAY. So you can get the special Halloween effects on the taunt. Depending on what effect you get, the value varies. But Halloween effects are valued higher than regular ones. The taunt you got it for is I See You, which is a low tier sniper taunt, so it isn't worth too much. On its own, there are sellers for the unusualifier on the Steam Community market for around 10 dollars. So around 6 keys maybe. But I strongly recommend that you apply it. Since you will get a special effect. But hurry, since the event ends on the 7th of November!

Thank you for that information, but if you look in my inventory below that one actually there is an isotope minimal wear totally boned weapon skin. That is the unusual I am referring too.

I'm no pro on unusual skins but I have owned a few!

Totally boned isn't the most desirable skin, but isotope is a fan favorite. If you're looking for profit, sell it as a war paint. If you're looking to keep it, apply it to a weapon that you like. The war paint should go for 30-40 keys. I see a few hot ones on the SCM for 120 bucks,  but they've been sitting unsold for months. Buy orders are at 71 dollars. So If you're patient, you could get 40+ keys with your unbox! Congratulations!

Skins can be a little hard to price at times. If you're looking to sell though, you'll want to keep it as a war paint, as it will lose a good chunk of its' value when turned into a weapon.

 

The SCM has buy orders for effectively 25 keys, so you shouldn't go under that, but you can likely get somewhat higher than that. I'd say 45-50 keys is a good range.

 

If you do decide to keep it though, I'd say the Rocket Launcher, Scattergun, and Stickybomb Launchers are the best looking weapons for that skin. The Winger skin might also be fun, as it does make it look like the gun is plastered with dicks (and you could then call it "The Wanger").

Isotope is generally the most desirable effect on paints, but the Halloween set of skins aren't so much. Depending on where you try to sell it, I'd say 40-45 keys is a good bet. I'd advise you sell it on Community Market or Marketplace, skins tend to go a bit quicker on there since the search functions are better for them.

Personally, I think that would be a great, and logical decision.

i'd buy that for 25 keys any day! sweet unbox. might be able to get 40 keys if you were patient
