You should provide the link to the scammer's steam profile.

No they should not. We are not starting witchhunts.

You are an experienced player. You should know better than to give your personal information to strangers.

There is no need to start hating on him for getting his account stolen. What?!

As Alex mentioned, you should contact steam support if these dont help:

1. Change password immediately, and also change it anywhere else you have the same password set. The scammer will try to log into your email with it when he loses access.
2. De-authorize all other devices here: https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
3. Revoke any API keys set. Their only use, if you don't know what it is, is keeping control of your account.  https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey
4. If this still doesn't resolve the issue, contact Steam Support at https://help.steampowered.com/

No steam admin will ever contact you over steam chat. Only official steam support tickets.

There is no such thing as a pending ban.

I assumed a steam profile would be needed to file a report but ok

It would however, that would be done via either their backpack.tf profile or via steamrep. The forums isn't the correct place to post that info.

Yes. But that doesn't mean he should link it here and start a witchhunt for everyone to join.
