Issue with my bp.tf Rep (resolved)

Deceptive

Recommended Posts

It’s been a month since I cashed out of TF2 to play CS:GO and I’ve just came back to the game. What bugs me is, as I’m coming back and adding people to buy stuff for my inventory, people might look at my bp.tf rep and say I’m distrusted because of one dumb rating. When I cashed out a month ago, I had been adding several people who were advertising to be selling backpacks, and I wanted to know the best and highest offer each person would do for my inventory at the time. However, this one person I discussed with took that as me making a deal with that sole person, when I asked him what the highest he could do was and if he could go higher. Of course, I put his offer along with other people’s offers on the side until I could decide. A while later, I decided ultimately that I would wield the most money out of selling my bp items individually, and he took my negotiations and then deciding against selling my bp to him as a “waste of time” (as mentioned in the negative rating) and then proceeded to leave a negative rating on my profile. The thing is though, I can’t be pressured to make a deal involving monetary value with someone, and that was the vibe I was getting off them. I never “accepted” his offer, I simply wanted to know the highest everyone could offer. Later I tried to report the rating for reason: “This does not involve a risky trade” although arguably I could’ve chosen “this comment is falsified”, and a month later, coming back to the game, nothing has happened. Just a tiny rant. Thanks if you read all of this and cared to read this.

EDIT: The negative rating was removed, thanks everyone.

Lemon's trust is valid, you can't change it and it's your fault.

But the thing is, the reason I reported the comment for was completely valid, it didn't involve a risky trade, when in fact he was going make profit off the trade. Also, it stinks that I have a disadvantage because I don’t commonly make risky trades in the community and build a trust factor up. The whole system gives the “higher up” traders advantages by letting them have more say, when I’ve never made a risky trade (ie. PayPal) which you would likely give each other +reps for. And once again, he mistook me in the comment, saying that I “accepted” his offer. A complete misunderstanding from his part.. apparently you can be reported for being a untrusted trader for being a “waste of time” unintentionally.

well i understand that an untrust does show something bad since lemons is very trusted around here but people should not have any issues with you since its not a heavy punishment or anything.you will just have to deal with it.if you still feel you are innocent, just report it and see what the mods says

Wasting ones time is not a valid reason to leave a negative rating.

As can be seen here https://forums.backpack.tf/topic/53663-guide-for-reporting-on-the-main-site/

And in the trust tutorial when creating the rating it mentions:

“When should I not use this feature? [...] avoid giving someone a negative rating just because they refused to add you/ignored you/blocked you/removed you/didn't want to trade with you on Steam.”

And to answer cave’s post; just because lemons is a community moderator doesnt mean he cant make mistakes sometimes 😛

Normally i’d say report it aswell, but if you’ve already reported a listing / rating you’re not able to do it again

edit: i am not sure why the size of the first text is bigger
