Soju
https://tf2-outpost.com/ I first saw this site like 2 months ago, assumed it was a scam, and moved on. I got bored and logged into it today, wanting to do some research. -I signed into the site with steam, they didn't ask for my login credentials and steam guard code cause I was already logged into steam on my web browser. I checked my recent login history on Steam and saw nothing unusual. I also did a test deposit on marketplace.tf to check if trades get redirected. Looks like I haven't been phished...yet. -The site didn't require me to "deposit" any items to bots. -You can actually make trades on the site, by logging into steam the site can see what items you have as long as your privacy settings allow it. It's a bit glitchy though. -There seems to be real people using it, you can see each user is a real steam profile through the site and see that the items they put in their trades are actually in their inventories. -The site is trying to copy the old outpost as closely as possible, IDK how the trademark/copyright/trade dress laws work with shut down websites, but I doubt ZAM would be cool with it. -There's no indication of who made the website at all, no "about us" page, no listed mods or staff, all I could find is that the website domain was registered in the Czech Republic. https://whois.icann.org/en/lookup?name=tf2-outpost.com So what do you guys think? Is the site legit? I really want this thing to be real and to get popular. Most of my trading profit was made thanks to outpost and since it shut down I've been in a trading rut. flirganovski
Use Bazaar, its safe and good site with nice features. I saw that "New Outpost" but i wont risk to be honest, im just using Bazaar, BP.tf, bp.tf forum, steam groups, reddit and tf2 steam trade forum. Zeus_Junior
Just here to clear some things up about phishing; 1) The green lock does not always mean it isn't a phishing site, for example the "checking your item index" scam fakes it with HTML as a fake in browser popup. 2) If you click the login button and are "redirected to steam" and the URL shows this instead of this The site is a nope 3) If you click the login button and are "redirected to steam" and it shows this (as you can see, i am already logged in). Its not a fake login. 3.5) If you're not already logged in: Open steam in a new tab and log in there, then refresh the login page you went to via whatever site. If you're still not logged in then i'm 99% sure its not a safe site either. As for the site in question, i dont see anything wrong with it at this time. Just someone (single dev afaik) trying to revive it again.

_inu
Since there was a discussion on Discord a month ago about who the site is owned by, I managed to track down the account back then https://steamcommunity.com/id/_RCE3/ Just a chill spin off project by a single dev he does in his spare time. WTF How do you know he shut it down, did he say as much somewhere? I thought it might just be down temporarily, well that's what I was hoping, since I've grown to really like this new outpost. If true, I hope he reconsiders and brings it back online.
flirganovski
Just now, bangers said: How do you know he shut it down, did he say as much somewhere? From his Steam profile: Dev of http://tf2-outpost.com (community spinoff project) Since this personal project project grew too much recently and gained attention of public I had to shut it down until I receive response from owners of closed website this project "was inspired" by whether they allow its existence or not. I'm sorry guys, I believe this is the only right way at the moment. We will see how it goes.
bangers
Ahh oki, thanks for the info. So there still maybe hope of a return. It would be great if the previous tf2-outpost team give this new venture their support, don't see why they wouldn't. Fingers crossed
Le-Sten
Site was taken down, no need to talk anymore about it...
Soju
Update: The creator made a new website called https://tf2trade.org that is essentially the same thing. Seems the new tf2outpost was taken down due to legal/trademark reasons. Hopefully this site won't also abruptly be put to an end. locking this thread to avoid necro's btw
