My stupid Razer Blackwidow Chroma just died during a casual match, and i got so pissed off that i literally unplugged it and threw it down the stairs lol now i'm currently using a 20$ chinese keyboard that i had laying around in my house.

What's a good mechanical keyboard that WON'T break within its first 3 years of life?

I use a Corsair K95 RGB Platinum, most mechanical keyboards will last a good couple years for sure. Corsair has never done me wrong in the past.

I would recommend a corsair keyboard as well. I'm using a k70 rgb rapidfire lux w/ browns, and It's been doing me well since July.

If you’re looking for a true gaming keyboard, I’d take a look at the wireless Apple Keyboard. It’s rechargable.

but it's apple though...

I agree Alienware is extremely overpriced, but there's no variety when it comes to apple keyboards, they are all the same silver design.

I guess we can agree to disagree with this one.

I'd highly recommend the HP Omen keyboard tbh. Has browns but isn't CherryMX. Thing is pretty noisy in terms of typing/playing but thing can take a hell of a beating, i slammed my first on it about 20 time before it was completely shot. Thing costs about 35-50 on eBay too. Should get a new one

I actually like the apple keyboard. The mouse is dogshit, but I like the spacing of the keys with this. Or maybe I'm just biased because I can't afford better

Personally I use an Anne Pro keyboard. It's 60% and I've swapped out the switches with aliaz 70g but I realize doing that is a little hardcore for most. If you're not picky about the type of switch then most any mech keyboard would do the job for you, you probably just got unlucky with the razer board.

Maybe don't throw your keyboard down the stairs...?

Also Razer products fucking suck, they don't last long and their support is the worst thing ever

Maybe you should've left some money from you selling your Nintendo switch to buy a keyboard instead of keys

Oh i did save some money, after reading some answers and doing research online, i ended up getting a Corsair k70 lux with reds.

I believe that mechanical keyboard is a marketing deception.

No, "gaming keyboard" is marketing deception. Keyboards have different switch types that provide observable tactile differences keystroke responses. "Mechanical" is one of them. True mechanical keyboards will use durable metal springs, not switches.

I personally love my Model M for how punchy it feels, but despite their quality and durability most are super old & difficult to maintain if something does malfunction. The Lenovo KB1021 is a good cheap alternative I've found, it feels a lot like an old mechanical keyboard and despite the price isn't prone to breaking. Cherry puts out some great keyboards if you simply must have premium (don't get a slim one) and is probably the only new keyboard I've used that truly feels comparable to a Model M.

Yeah, gaming keyboard is the marketing deception, mechanical keyboard means it has switches under it (unless its a scam obv), blue, green, red, brown etc. Which all have different clicks, pressure points and etc.
