Is a G-Sync monitor worth $220 more then one without? (On a 144hz IPS free-sync Vs 144-165hz IPS G-Sync)

Basically: https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/sqp323/acer-monitor-xf270hu

vs

https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/scM323/aoc-ag271qg-270-165hz-monitor-ag271qg OR https://au.pcpartpicker.com/product/ttnG3C/acer-monitor-xb271hubmiprz

Both 27", both IPS, both 144hz+ (the other can achieve 165hz if overclocked im pretty sure, i don't think it comes 165hz default.. but i could be wrong), just the difference between free-sync and g-sync

Is it really worth $220 more on a 144hz IPS monitor?

(AUD prices as always)

Posted this to reddit but didnt really get any definite answers so I'll try here

it depends if you have an nvidia gpu or an amd gpu.

If your gpu is good enough to run over 144fps at all times it shouldnt matter much, but if it isnt you should consider getting the gsync one (if you have an nvidia gpu). It still wont do much of a difference tho as long as you dont have big frame drops.

1060, soon to be 1080 at Christmas. So just say to go with the 1080.

Then G-Sync will be what you are looking for.

Nvidia does not support FreeSync albeit a few hacks that make it work. There is no guarantee Nvidia will not take steps against said workarounds though so I don't recommend an Nvidia + FreeSync build.
