RaidMiner_FIN Posted October 1, 2018 Share Posted October 1, 2018 So, quick rundown what's goin' on here: Back on Sunday I was opening several Blue Moon Cosmetic cases (along with the keys that I got as a gift) when I happened to strike lucky on the 4th case by getting a Strange Unusual Starboard Crusader with a "Cloud 9"-effect for Heavy (screenshot below). However, as I tried to pin-point how much it would be in value... I stumbled upon into a problem. Unfortunately, Backpack.tf didn't have any sort of value to suggest on this item, which has left me with a skeptical pricing of 51,72€ (about 60,01$ when exchanged) in the Community Market. As I really don't have any idea how Unusual-values work; (especially when they happen to not have any clues for value), I could use a bit of hand for how I would get some resolution upon this dilemma? ;v P.S: I have no intentions for selling the hat mentioned yet... Remember that the SCM lumps all unusual effects together, so what you see for prices there are for absolute minimums. Same thing with buy orders, as since there are buy orders for that specific effect at 25 keys, you can infer that the hat will be worth more than that. As the hat is a new one, most effects don't have prices yet, so it can be a little harder to price. But the hat is the most popular of the ones available in the Blue Moon case (as it is "a motherfucking JoJo reference"). Looking at what other effects go for and factoring in that it's strange, I'd give a rough estimate at 55-65 keys, but you can certainly list it higher to give some negotiation room or see if there are any bites. In any case, if you do put it up for trade and get an offer you are unsure of, just make a status update here or ask in the site's Discord. Gotta say fella, those are quite honest and fascinating points which I haven't taken into account (notably the "freshness" of the item from 2018 case). Thou I admit your suggestion for the value is quite amusing (I was around just 25-30 comparing from backpack.tf itself) X'D However, I will keep my head cool and try out your advises for how to proceed with this item.
