Rice n Pasta
So some guy just sent me an offer of 25 keys for my aussie tomislav, but they seem to be fake keys. When I hover my mouse over his keys in the trade window, it looks like this: https://i.gyazo.com/654be82cd0d9712ed3039fa617b2e81e.png. No TF2 logo or any other indication that it's a TF2 item. When I hover the mouse over one of the keys in my inventory, it looks like this: https://i.gyazo.com/1442b03529998b07b81faaec9d898dbf.png. You can clearly see the TF2 logo here. If I right click one of his keys and press "view in community market" it takes me to this market page: https://steamcommunity.com/market/listings/810270/Mann Co. Supply Crate Key Look at the number in the url - 810270. TF2's id number is 440, so this has to be some other game's fake item: https://store.steampowered.com/app/810270/Bitcoin_Miner/
A Delicious Cashew
Please be careful when trading - easiest thing to do is view the item in the community market as the main post mentions and check if '440' is in the URL if you're offered TF2 items. Always double check and ask questions if you're unsure your items are legitimate. If Valve is responsible, they will swiftly take action and create checks to ensure this stops happening. Until then, proceed with extreme caution Most of these offers are coming from private (and marked) users, so if you can't verify that they actually own the items in their legitimate Team Fortress 2 inventory, don't accept the offer. If you're using Automatic, offers will be skipped as they contain non-TF2 items. You can then decline those and report the user/game as necessary
Hell Killy
I was faced with the same shit. We need to warn people. https://ibb.co/fBFByo https://ibb.co/hVcVr8 One more interesting fact: in russian, these items appear to be TF2 items, while in englis they are from "Bitcoin Miner", but there is a difference in description. They are "not being sold on scm" either way, that is why I paid attention. Also, this scammer offered 32 keys when I asked 28, and there are many sellers at the same price. Scott Bakula
Looks like Valve already nuked Abstractism and its items. Now we need to get them to do the same to this game.
KERPKEK
The safest option right now would be to just not trade at all with anyone you don't already know. They've figured out how to change the name and icon of the game the item is actually from, and there's no feasible way of checking what game the item(s) are actually from if they have a private inventory (which is already a red flag in itself). Hell Killy
Take a look at the guy who tried to jam me. https://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198079821428 May be that was his first and the last scam attempt, but he seems fine. Also, you shouldn't accept any offers from hidden accs in any case. This may lead to ban due to trading with scammer's alt/fence, because you are unable to check history. OFWGKTA
At least it looks like they've removed the game 'Bitcoin Miner'.
CorruptCorrupt
Funny thing is that Czeslaw is an account hijacker. He hacked one of my old account and attempted to use it to scam people.
