TF2Scourge
Quick Question. Is the act of impersonation a bannable offense? Or does there need to be an action associated with it For instance, if someone changes their name to "Marketplace.TF | Bot 55", is the action of just changing their name enough to report them / leave a -rep for caution? creepio
Be yourself. Everyone else is taken.. By definition impersonation is imitation with the intentions of entertaining or committing fraud. You receive -rep by performing fraudulent acts. Not sure what is so entertaining about pretending to be a bot. Change your name as you wish. If you completely change your profile to mimic the bot, red flags will be raised. Impersonating other users and trade bots NEVER goes over well.. just saying. I'm asking because I'm wonderign if I can or should report someone for the action of having impersonated a marketplace bot, as seen here: https://backpack.tf/item/4624081360 https://steamcommunity.com/profiles/76561198829627245

That profile screams out fraudulent activity
Woifi The Viking
Impersonating someone without any more context alone is not banable UNLESS the impersonated user is a green tagged on Steamrep (so certain steamrep and community admins). If that account contacted you in any way or if it was used by a scammer etc include screenshots of that and it can be banned
creepio
I was not accusing you of anything. With the lack of information provided, I was confused as it seemed as if you were wanting to impersonate a marketplace bot but you didn't want to get into trouble as you had no intentions of scamming anyone. Example: Impersonating a bot, then going into a game and playing. Dumb fun.. Your response came with the information your original post lacked. I apologize, was just confused by your post. trash
there must be either proof of rep fraud (mainly the impersonator linking to the actual person's account) or an intent to scam. A user name and profile picture matching is not enough
