Kamasakis Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Hello, I wanted to ask some info regarding unusual hats. More specific newer unusual effects, how are they matched, or priced. Maybe few, of you, will make me understand more about it So, i got an Unusual Respectless Robo-glove, poisoned shadows. Unboxed it myself. And i have few question about it, and few general ones, about unusuals: How does the new effects rank? Is there an estimate price on effects? And how does the unusual hat get match? I read the article on TF2 wiki, but few of those "matches" seems silly to me. I get that, you can't think of any funny/clever way to match effect and a hat, but how does it really work? Who decides? Is there any other way to price my hat, rather than making a sell, and wait for offers, or keep an eye for sales of the same hat? (since only 2 exists, it would be almost impossible to find sales of the same hat).

Generally you can make a guess as to how much your unusual is worth buy simply looking at the price of other effects of the same hat. Make a rough educated guess as to how your effect ranks up with others which are already priced and you can obtain a rough price of your unusual. People obviously wont pay more for an unusual if there is the possibility of getting a better effect at a cheaper price, and you wont want to sell your unusual for too cheap either. You also have the option of looking at past sales and offers of those with the same unusual as you (this being the most accurate way to price your unusual) Themes are a touchy matter, generally if you dont see the theme in an instant then it most likely isnt a theme. Here are some examples of themes: - planets on a bubble pipe - burning flames on a pyro hat - Ace high on a hat of cards and being level 21 ...etc If you have to explain your theme to others you're most likely forcing your theme. Ive seen others say that their nuts&bolt trophy belt is a theme based on a relatively unknown movie...
Kamasakis Posted January 21, 2014 Author Posted January 21, 2014 If you have to explain your theme to others you're most likely forcing your theme. This part made it all clear , thank you. Also, is there a way to see ranked and priced effects alone? Any legitimate sites, or maybe bp.tf has this option?
