Liddojunior Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Either has its benefits I use stock shotgun
puddingkip Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 Depends on map and how good you are at blasting. Around halloween I finally got my blasting working, so I used reserve+axtuinguisher but then I quit tf2 again. Shotgun is more overall good. Only hightower really makes me use reserve (and low grav cp_orange_x4 pub where I was regular)
Zcrab Posted January 16, 2014 Posted January 16, 2014 I am really bad at pyro, I only go pyro to kill other pyro's(especially W+M1 pyro's)So I use Stock shotting as "Primary" as i dont actully use fire, more airblast to keep the pyro's away from me. I played against 2 descent pyro's wich I both dominated by only using shotgun, and airblast. And for W+M1 pyro's its a killer. If I where going to play tryhard, I would still take Stock shotgun, mostly because you only get 2,5 more damege on thoose mini crits, and you might miss thoose shots
knavesmith Posted January 17, 2014 Posted January 17, 2014 The server I normally go on has a slightly weaker gravity so I always use the reserve shooter when I go Pyro. I also use it when I go Soldier as I'm not too good at airshots. I haven't used it very much on normal gravity maps so I don't know how well it works on those. But if you use the degreaser, it's much easier to use due to the faster weapon switching so you have a bit more time to line up the shot.
