Is it worth stocking up massive piles of ToD's?

Ward - MvM Anyone?

Im serious. High demand for tour's and they'll eventually hit 3 ref again. So is it worth buying tons at 2 ref and sell them when I do a price suggestion razing the price when I have 500  they go up?

This thread illustrates the problems with taking advice about selling a thing from people who don't sell that thing.

I've sold about 50 at 3 ref (some in items) since the sale ended.  You can sell in bulk for 2.33.  You can easily make immediate profit buying at 2 ref.

Stocking up on TODs will always be a good idea, just wait for a new tour and sell them.

2 years later..

Every time a new tour comes out sell off; and then after the hype dies down, buy a ton. Easy.

You have better ways to make profit not to mention these are regularly on sale :P

Have they been on sale before? When do things usually go on sale on mann.co store? I run out of tickets so fast, next time i'm going to buy like 200 :(

It went to 3 ref and over because of the new Tours.

It is highly unlikely it will go there again.

Maybe not to 3 ref (not anytime soon because of the sale); but they will surely go up when a new tour comes out.

Yeah, but not before that. The probability for this to go up again to 3 ref and over without new tour is little to none.

problem with that is, it took them forever just to get from the mecha engine update to the two citites update, so It wouldn't be a bright idea to rely on valve to just throw in more mvm tours when everyone still loves two cities.

Well, you certainly shouldn't be tying up all your money in one thing; but if the money you spent on the tickets was just going to lie around your paypal account (or just sit as keys/ref/buds in your bp) then you should stock up. But as with any investment; you should only be investing with excess funds.

wtf are you guys on about?  I had 90 on the day the sale ended, 23 left now (9 days later) and I'm selling at 3 ref or 5 for 2 keys.

The only reason I had 90 instead of 900 was the risk that valve would keep the price at $0.49 permanently.

Yes they will be back to 3 ref and most likely 2 for 1 key again. The mvm hype is still there, demand for australium weapons and killstreak kits for the good weapons is still very high.

I totally forgot about this angle.  One guy who bought 120 tickets from me (@1.88 ref, during sale) said he made 2-3 buds profit from playing tours and selling his drops.

I don't play MvM, so no idea if that is typical, but the new drops are definitely subsidizing ticket prices to some extent.

Yes, tours are in fact profit. It's just a huge amount of time you are wasting to complete them (let's say 5 hours per tour, if you got a decent team).
