Julia
I was kind of hoping there'd be more in this section >.> Since there isn't, here's some of my stuff. Down below are 2 of my most recent pieces of anything, and by recent I mean like 4-5 months ago. Yeah, they're digital paintings. Digital is so fun :3 And some really old photos that are like over a year old. I very rarely take photos anymore, but photography was fun when I actually did it. Loads of practice and work though! And a plain old unfinished traditional drawing in graphite. I guess these are some of my favorite pieces that I could find? o.O Let me know what you guys think ^^

Julia
Thanks I don't have a particular place that I post all my work. I had a tumblr once and I posted like 5 pieces and was done with it. :/
knavesmith
What is the graphite drawing supposed to resemble? It looks interesting.

(Nikon i hope ) Surprisingly i really like the blubbery one--usually not a fan of non-wildlife/landscapes/cityscapes.
Julia
Nope. Canon. Landscapes are like something I never do because of my lens options. I have an 18-55mm, 50mm, and 100mm. GENERALLY I use the 100mm because it was the most expensive and it has nice quality. I prefer prime lenses. :

Unfortunately i do most of my photography on vacation; so prime lenses aren't well suited. And, 18mm is fine for landscapes; i've been using my dads old 24-85 f2.8D lens (which i'm not super happy about--i'd really like to "upgrade" it to an 24-85mm f3.5G, but meh. Also, landscapes and wildlife are by far the most fun to shoot ; i just wish i could afford either (and) an ultra-angle 16-35mm as an additional lens, replace my 24-85mm with the f3.5 version, and replace my 70-300 with a 70-200 f2.8 (and maybe a 1.4x tele). Unfortunately i don't have $4k to drop on glass. (or glass/a new body--since i wouldn't really need the 16-35 if i could upgrade my D7K to a D610/D800. Julia
It's really just that the 18-55mm was the stock lens and the quality is kind of bad. The widest aperture is 3.5 at 18mm. >_> When I'm so used to using my 100mm f/2.8 it just feels like a piece of crap. If I were to get another lens I'd probably choose the Canon 35mm f/1.4L. It's one of the most solid lenses you can buy for a variety of different purposes. Landscapes aren't really much of my thing since I don't get the opportunity to go to a whole lot of places. An ultra-wide angle would be cool though. Most of the photography I do is all about lighting. I put a lot of work into setting up lights for my pictures. I actually have 2 strobes and a wireless configuration that I use. Then my closet is full of other things that I use for lighting that I put together myself (softboxes, diffusers, stuff I found like white bed sheets). For landscapes you really want to be around f8, which is why i'd happily trade my 24-85 f2.8 for its f3.5 version (which is actually $200~ less). And supposedly the 18-55 kit lens isn't that bad.... mmmm, unfortunately, most of my photography is wildlife and landscapes; neither of which i find myself shooting very often at home--as theres not a lot to really shoot...so most of my pictures are from vacations; so i rarely have more then a few seconds to compose and make the shot--now if only the metering systems weren't crap (well...not crap...but still--i'm much better than the system); but then again--that would kind of suck, since the fun part is composing the shot as well as figuring out the shutter speed/aperture/iso. Julia
I have a thing where if I look at my previous work all the time I feel disappointed and it prevents me from making new work. I can finish a piece and tuck it away somewhere to never be looked at again unless I really feel like it. Plus I usually only share my work with people who are close to me. Hopefully that makes sense...
d0 ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
That's some awesome & impressive work - give me some nice macro pictures and my photograph-nerdgasm will tingle. Also tl;dr @ above but Canon >

Hopefully that makes sense... i know the feeling....i honestly don't really like putting my pictures up anywhere, simply because i don't like "giving" my pictures away to strangers for free :/ (I'd love to be able to make a living off of my photography--unfortunately, thats more then likely never going to happen ). Also tl;dr @ above but Canon > ummm no. Nikon>Canon anyday.
jorisk322
Wow, cool. I'm guessing you used a drawing tablet or something for the paintings?
Julia
I honestly don't care about the whole Canon vs. Nikon debate. I just want something that takes pictures, thank you. I have some macro photos around somewhere but they'd take a while to dig up. If I find some I'll post those too I guess. My 100mm is actually a true macro lens. And yes, I use a graphics tablet for drawing digitally. I could only imagine the pain it would be trying to use a mouse. I still find drawing on paper to be much easier though. It's easy to misplace a stroke when using a tablet.
