Sweden doesn't use euro yet, so please SEK (Swedish crowns), thx.

Tho euro got 2 different values, guess USD/Pounds/EU1/py6 would be nice. :)

Most swedish people are still familiar with euro so euro is totally fine, it's overkill to add all kinds of values in my opinion, euro, usd, dogecoin and the russian shit is enough.

I think Euro, USD and Â£ is the most important, since it are the most used currencies

Hardly anyone uses £, there's two main pure sellers of GBP on outpost and thats it. It would help to have the currencies, but I can't see it being very useful considering as the exchange rates change its just an extra thing to load up.

edit: and not to mention that most the USD prices are way out :P

Euros, Pounds, and Dollars are all relatively constant.

1.3 Dollars : 1 Euro

1.5 Dollars : 1 Pound

Just do some math :P

Having multiple currencies listed could lead to confusion; not to mention someone could set the currency to RMB, take a screenshot and pretend it was USD (i.e. lie in order to manipulate).

Would be great if bp.tf could support all of the "big 5" that are most commonly used on the community market: $, €, Â£, Ñ€ÑƒÐ± and R$.

I think having multiple currencies would just lead to people taking screenshots in a weaker currency and pretending its a stronger one.

i.e. someone has an unusual listed at $30 USD, he sets his settings to Rubles, which would be 1000 rubles; and then omits the rubles part and makes people think the screenshot is listed in USD.

Not to mention Brad would need to add something to the code to constantly keep all the conversions up-to-date, which could be problematic as not everyone would have the same rates; also it just leads to some more issues imo. Right now, one of the problems with the unusual economy is that there are multiple currencies (Buds/keys/bills/maxs)--Name one successful country that uses more then one currency?--None do simply because it beomes a chaotic mess--which currency would items hold their value? Should items be stored in Euros or USD, and if USD/Euros crash, then what happens to the value of the items? Do they maintain their Euro value or USD value?

I have no sympathy for someone who throws away a fucking grand because they were naive enough to believe a screenshot

Also you're forgetting that you can edit pages regardless so your point is completely redundant

I'll probably consider adding this feature myself after I'm done with several cleanups

I'm with Fiskie on the first point. Screenshots can be faked easily already. Displaying more currencies wouldn't affect that issue significantly. If someone is gullible enough to make a trade based on a screenshot, well...

Onto the second point: We don't have the same currencies on the community market either, that's just how the playing field is. Right now, for instance, keys cost more on the market in Euro than in the store, so we don't have the same rates anyways, and I trust that in itself could be interesting and valueable information to some people. Ideally, you would see some of those (sometimes profitable) disparities on bp.tf too then, which, I suppose could be a beneficial addition.

As far as making it a chaotic mess for the average user goes, I trust the bulk of them will simply set it to their preferred currency and leave it there till the end of time. Practically making it a non-issue, while they can now gauge their backpack value in a currency that comes easier to them than USD.

Finally, the worst case scenario of a crash, well, that's a risk any market has, and the choice for the preferred currency in that scenario can't be made in advance anyways. The market decides then, much like some traders decide to only take keys or cash whenever buds crash. Just like with buds or keys, if a real currency crash happens, bp.tf doesn't need to do more than what it already does: observe the market decisions that emerge from that crisis once it's sufficiently established, and then suggest and discuss the appropriate changes, So far, bp.tf doesn't favour any in-game currency, all of them are subject to change at any time, so I don't really see why it should need to with real world currencies like Euro and USD, especially since with the last update, items can retain their value in buds/keys as well, as far as I know.
