iRavage
Why is there such a big hype around the s kritzkrieg? I got one, i bought it for 40 keys, should I sell it right now? Should I start buying some for the future? Or might the kritzkrieg drop like the s grenade launcher did?
AwesomeMcCoolName
the S. grenade dropped due to being added to a new crate. So the 40 would only have a massive drop if it was re-released (and i believe valve said they won't re-release salvaged stranges---Festives are considered different weapons and therefore not re-releases). So, the S. Kritz shouldn't be obtainable any other way then a crate 30--at least until 2014 festives in a year (or if valve creates a new festive-like strange). BUT, they may still drop, just like any item can go up or down. Also, hoarding items, and waiting for them to increase is a bad idea--you're much better off flipping. Should I start buying some for the future? Or might the kritzkrieg drop like the s grenade launcher did? The hype is here because before Christmas, many people feared that Valve might release it as a strange festive, which would make the normal strange kritzkrieg worth less. This caused the price to drop, because people quicksold in fear. Now it's clear that Valve won't release it at least until Smissmass 2014, which is a long time away. Thus people wanted the item again, as the kritzkrieg still is a very wanted medic "weapon". There is also a lot of MVM being played these days, and the Kritzkrieg is by far the best MVM medigun. Further increasing the demand, and by laws of economics, the price. So a hype was started. If you buy for the future, that should be a close future. It will most likely drop a bit again as the current hype is rather unfunded. The s. grenade launcher is a different story. It was in an old crate, but now also is in a new crate, thus greatly increasing the supply for practically the same demand and dropping the price greatly. Edit, half of it was ninja'd by Awesome
Kireek
Well if thats the case, surely some of the other salvaged #30 stranges should see a bump pretty soon? I know the gunslinger took a huge hit in the runup towards christmas, as did the Kritzkrieg. Is there chance of a increase of demand for things like that (including #40 and #50)

iRavage
The thing that makes me pretty sad, is that actually ~40% of the #30 are owned by f2p :/ They dont even know their luck
puddingkip
Is this another post here and get liked thread? The thing that makes me pretty sad, is that actually ~40% of the #30 are owned by f2p :/ They dont even know their luck And well crate #30 happened a long time ago, when so much fewer people played tf2. Most of them actually quit playing a long time ago and got this crate from a random drop without ever knowing it's value. I'm fairly sure they can't even trade it because they're f2p

Well it makes you look nice. But there's a limit to the amount of likes you can give per day (booooooo). F CHARLIE
The kritzkrieg is not the best medi gun but it is the top mvm medigun. That can effect the vintage version but not likely the strange version.

I've still never ran into this like limit and i'm by far the most active.....you and baloo seriously need to raise your standards. Why would mvm only affect vintages and not stranges? I liked 8 of my blog posts today. And I guess because for the Kritzkrieg there is a major price difference. There's a difference between spending 0.33 ref on an item for MVM and spending upward of 40 keys. There are a lot more people who want to spend 0.33 on a fancier version of a kritzkrieg than 40+ keys for an even fancier one
Wolfy
Why would mvm only affect vintages and not stranges? Probably because vintages are cheaper and therefore more people would try to buy it.

Administrators OverduePixels Posted January 20, 2014 Administrators Share Posted January 20, 2014 the S. grenade dropped due to being added to a new crate. So the 40 would only have a massive drop if it was re-released (and i believe valve said they won't re-release salvaged stranges---Festives are considered different weapons and therefore not re-releases). Valve says many things. Half Life 3 will come out and whatnot, they can hardly keep their words. But coming to logical sense. It wouldn't make no sense at all if they don't release the old stranges due to new players coming everyday and joining the Tf2 community. From my view of point, valve will re-release old stranges as usual. If they don't, the remaining S.Kritz might end up with someone's hand who suddenly gave up Tf2/Steam overall and might remain in their backpack. So to think in logical term, re-releasing old stranges would be a better thing to do(which valve will most likely do) than not re-releasing at all.
