Erik
Sad news. Looks like the guy who lost his Burning BoA before, now got scammed of his Scorching Ninja Hood, MG Polar Pullover and some other hats to a fake Angelmander impersonator after he got them back from Vinnie. I have him on my friend list and he had the Ninajahood, Pullover and some other hats this morning but now they're gone again and coincidentally there's an impersonator on his friend list. https://steamrep.com/search?q=http%3A%2F%2Fsteamcommunity.com%2Fid%2FAnngelMander http://steamcommunity.com/id/AnngelMander http://steamcommunity.com/id/friendshinra phenompak

I can confirm that he got scammed by a fake admin and now he basically lost everything I worked to get back for him. Such a shame really.

Mag!cGuy
Feels like the guy's doing it in purpose. Getting sharked once is a thing, but getting scammed the next day... Wowzers.oh and: " Why isn't the guy who bought the BoA from him with 1000 keys worth of stuff banned yet? He already is on Outpost, not sure why he should be allowed to run with a 2000 keys profit free. He's just as much of a scumbag as the initial scammer. " That question has not been answered. It's kinda worrying to see this website ban people for trading 100 keys hats with alts not marked on steamrep, which is obviously fine and all, but then let that guy get away with it. K1ng
I was going to say I'm surprised, but I'm not because I already said he would get sharked again. They always find a way to lose everything even if you warn them about every single scam method. Happened before and will still happen in the future, unfortunately. Erik
Yeah I added him yesterday and he seems like a genuinely nice person. It's a shame that he has no knowledge about how things work and how scammers take advantage of that. I just spoke to him and he still thinks that it's not an impersonator.... 20:05 - Erik S>Unusuals: How did it happen 20:06 - The one and only Fishcake heavy: i was told that i would be banned because i was an "alt" to the scammer 20:06 - The one and only Fishcake heavy: and that if i gave my unusuals i would get new ones back from steam

I don't really see the issue here. The guy said he was interested in my pullover (not the guy who got scammed) and offered it. So I accepted it. And let's be very honest here, that case maker is not 500. (he paid casemaker + tyrants) So the overpay wasn't that much. My b/o was 450 or 500+ in unusuals and his offer got pretty close. Besides, I traded with him before it became an offense just like many backpack.tf users traded with Big Boss in the past.

Don't blame scammers for the stupidity of people. Just blame the idiot himself . and legit there are another 100 sharkers out there or more. Just because someone made a big shit out of this you guys ban him but in actual fact you guys are lazy biased fucker who throw the ban hammer on people who offend you but hardly do shit when nobody makes a big issue out of a sharking incident. Also banning people for trading with scammers, I've seen chilledteasoda or whatever the fuck his name is trade with scammers on a monthly basis and sell the shit to scrap, people reported him multiple times but he was never banned. Why should I report something that the whole community knows about and probably several mods too since they followed this story? Guess I missed the purpose haha. Anyway, done. Oh and TheWiz, I'm sorry but I don't know why you're linking to Erik's page when I'm talking about the guy who directly traded with the scammer in question. Unless the history here: http://backpack.tf/item/5523164849 and the compare link http://backpack.tf/profiles/76561198058892756#!/compare/1487376000/1487462400 are completely innacurate? polar
No, I didn't. I thought reports were here to adress situations that mods were not aware about? Why should I report something that the whole community knows about and probably several mods too since they followed this story? Guess I missed the purpose haha. Anyway, done. I didn't know who bought the BoA. I honestly didn't really read this thread carefully. The scammer's ban was handed not for the BoA case but for the case for which we actually have chatlogs between the victim and the scammer. Anyways, we did not hand out a ban for trading with MrPinball because at the time of the trade, our ban reason was ambiguous. We define sharks as scams. However, to my knowledge we are the only community that considers them so (no other community bans people for trading with people banned as sharks to my knowledge). And even we don't always ban people for trading with sharks. For example, in situations where people are trying to take advantage of bp.tf's SCM pricing based on lowest sellers (i.e. a random battlescarred weapon they will list on SCM for $300 to make it look like it's worth 100 keys) we have decided to ban them but not to prevent people from trading with them because part of that is our fault. Before I clarified the ban reason, the ban was too ambiguous. If we are going to ban people for trading with scammers, it is our responsibility to make it clear in our ban reason. We didn't do that up front. However, now that the ban reason has been clarified, future trades with the scammer will result in a ban.
