Question about ban appeals.

To make a very, very long story short, there was a guy that got scammed, and as I was helping look around, another guy that was part of the scamming, actually helped me out. He had no idea what he did, and he helped us corner the scammer with giving information about the scammer, the guy the scammer sold the items to, and even chat logs to prove everything. On these grounds, would it be possible to appeal a ban, even after he recently put one up?

Here's the full scam

-My friend is wanting to sell items to pay for his apartment

 

-guy adds him to sell items for paypal

 

-My friend gives items to the guy, but the guy never pays

 

-The guy then goes to his friend, ( the scammers friend is the person who I am referring towards ) and trades the items in between them numerous times

 

-The guy then tells the friend to sell the items for his money, such as a middle man

 

-He goes through with it, but does not know what is going on.

 

-My friend tells me about the situation, I look in on it, look at item history and find out the main perpetrators through that method

 

-I add all of the people who were after my friend

 

-One of them adds me back, and when I told him what happened, he freaked out and helped me out a bunch.

 

-He gave me chat logs, he gave me the guy they traded the items too, and even helped translate some things for me.

He told me that he had no idea what was going on, and said he would help in any way he could. He was extremely compliant and has helped in us cornering the scammer. I feel like his ban should no longer apply beings that he had no idea what was going on, other than his friend telling him he needed help trading. I have the chat logs from when this first happened, where the scammer talks to him about helping him out with some items.

He attempted to, but that was before he helped me out. He was told he can issue one in another 6 months, and I wouldn't have an issue with that, but he was looking to get an unusual he wants, but he does not think he can get the unusual with his backpack.tf ban.

Tell him to PM me and link his appeal, can't really comment without knowing what case we're even talking about.
