Why can you vote on your own suggestion?

Why? Isn't that a bad idea, like a president would vote on himself.

Not as in leaving a paper saying hey this seems great, i'll vote for this.

 

But yeah of course you agree with your opinion but isn't it wrong to actually be able to vote on it?

It's one single rep point, no point in getting rid of it :P

It instantly starts the suggestion with the suggester voting positive on it. The idea being that they of course believe their suggestion is correct. It always makes me a little sad closing a suggestion with a user who couldn't find the close button and have both deleted their initial suggesiton post and changed their vote to a negative, making for the rare 0% suggestion.

AAW really ? I used to downvote my suggestions when a mod tells me to close it :P
