F2P Cant even afford P2P
I just read Apeiron's post: How can I increase my backpack value to 1000 Keys? It has a lot of great advice for unusual trading. Thanks for that. But I want to ask, will you gain more attention by trading your unusuals for pure, or item overpay? I'm specifically referring to Australium weapons being accepted as item overpay. Also, what would be the best low-tier hats to start unusual trading, within a 25 key range? Any advice or feedback will be appreciated, thanks.
ksolis01
General Guidelines: 1. The more popular the class, the easier to sell with soldier being the highest and heavy the lowest. 2. Normal versions of hats are easier to sell than the robot versions with very few exceptions 3. Takes promos and Australiums are pure. Mainly look at the price quickbuyers are buying at and use that value. Make sure to check the professional Killstreak listings if the Australium is professional Killstreak. Also, check if the promos are duped. If they are, their value is lower. For instance, a clean HOUWAR sells at 90 keys while a duped goes for about 70. 4. Stick to decent effects. Unlike some traders, accept high tier third gens like disco beat down down but make sure to check if bp tf price is outdated or not The name of the game is to get pure as close to your b/o as possible or getting decent overpay in fairly priced or underpriced unusuals
Trianon
Stupid question: How to get rich without any knowledge? Stupid answer: Buy low, sell high. You gotta do research by yourself. Look through a thousand trades, watch people's offers, compare it to bp.tf prices, look how many attention different items get. Check steam market prices and bp.tf classifieds, check quickbuyers' offers. Start trading, try some different items, use all available places to sell your stuff. Make conclusion from your first few trades and alternate your trading pattern if needed.
F2P Cant even afford P2P
Interesting. Thanks for providing a guideline, ksolis01. Sorry Trianon, this stuff is all new to me. And yes, I've heard that stupid question been answered with that generic answer. Thanks btw
A Ninja
IMO if you want to get serious profit, don't bother with TF2. Low tier trading is slow and gruesome, especially with how dead this game has been with all these new unusuals unboxed, low player base, and deteriorating trading scene. Just swap to CS-GO, and make profit like there is no tomorrow.

And well it's just an opinion so don't kill me . and I actually like low tiers, because there aren't many rich folks out there who can pay a 1000 keys. And also, if you just want to quit, just sell to the lowest buyer on classies, you will only make like a 5 key loss. And don't take this serious, I respect your opinion

And also, if you just want to quit, just sell to the lowest buyer on classies, you will only make like a 5 key loss. And don't take this serious, I respect your opinion In CS-GO there is steam analyst which tracks the 7-day average price on the market for low tier knives, which determines their value for low tiers. People overpay all the time in cs go, and you get trades quick because of the insane player base. More people = more chances someone will like your knife. The high tier scene is a million times better. I constantly deal with Dubai and Chinese people who are willing to shell out money for rare items like there is no tomorrow. This is rarely seen in TF2 with only a few collectors like Darth Chicken keeping the high tier scene really alive. I've been able to make 2000 keys off one trade in a day just due to these types of people having bidding wars on rare and unique items. There are so many of these Darth Chicken Gamings I'd say in CS GO. For example in TF2 over a year or so I only broke 10,000 usd while swapping to CS-GO in mid july of 2016 https://i.gyazo.com/c1f7bac58e3198752607044c235bd830.png / https://i.gyazo.com/cf86ece43e7f0d90f08b67cd2a5f796d.png, a screenshot of my opskins balance shows 30k cashed out along with an extra 10k from paypal transaction while retaining an inventory value of over 15,000 usd. I'm able to accomplish this in just five months due to the huge player base along with collecting community in cs-go which allows for me to trade multiple high tiers item in a day for top dollar in cash/highly liquidable items versus TF2 taking weeks or months to just trade an unusual over a few hundred keys. There are a ton of Chinese/Dubai people in CS-GO who simply don't give a shit about how much something cost because to them it's just potatoes to compare to what they have in real life, and will outbid anyone/pay buyouts for any item as long they want it. In Team Fortress 2 they've put unusual taunt effects be able to be applied killing rare unusual taunt prices, multi-class crates devaluing every high tier in existence, and doubling unusual unboxing rates. TF2 has just been dying including their competitive scene, I can just take one look at TF2Center and realize comp. is pretty dead. Knives always have a constant value, a quicksell in cs go is sometimes 5% off for high tiers such as Ruby/Sapphires while in TF2 some people struggle to sell their 2000 key unusual for 1000 keys pure. The games trading scene/game state are not comparable anymore. CS-GO has definitely had some minor pitfalls though like the killing of gambling, but has already been brought back and growing in different forms. We have constant game updates, and there will be a game changer during January where China will have dedicated Chinese servers allowing them not having to play on VPNs which means more rich chinese joining CS-GO, and paying top dollar for exquisite knives. I've talked to a lot of high tier TF2 traders with backpack values over $30,000 USD like Yurich who was trying to get in the CS-GO scene because of how rich and diverse the trading scene is and how fast you can make money. Even the last I spoke to Frost a while ago, he told me TF2 isn't like it use to be with Australiums a year ago considered pure which are now quickbought a lot less below their listed price and a lot harder to sell. Even old school #1 TF2 collectors like Gorror and Vo0 have started to get in the CS-GO scene. Gorror who sold his Burning Team Captain a while back, and bought a Stattrack Factory New Karambit Crimson Web with the money, has rejected a 50,000 USD cash offer from a real Dubai Billionaire named Nova, saying he would never sell the knife. People thought he was an insane for quitting TF2, and buying that knife with the money from selling the TC but with one trade he profited over 35,000 usd. A lot of people are joining the CS-GO scene too such as Vo0 who I'm currently helping/buying items for Vo0 new CS-GO collection.
