COULD HE BE TRUSTED?

So apparently, CometX, the guy who blocked me for sone weeks is gone and not so sure where he is now. Today, he just unblocked me for some reason BUT it was a different account user now. http://steamcommunity.com/id/ControlliaHe told me CometX sold the account to him, and he called himself a programmer too. He is currently working on a template and a gambling site requested by the user. Does anyone know him or his background? He told me he just contacts people using Skype or e-mail for programming services before.

If you have to ask if someone is trustworthy, then they're usually not. Especially in this case, whoever the hell that is is not trustworthy.

I highly doubt that someone would purchase an account that's been marked as a scammer and has really low TF2 hours, odds are that he's just going to go through a different alias to appear trusted.

As the person who banned him, no. Do not trust him.

CometX has recently been highlighted to me by members of the Steam Community as a scammer by faking the hosting of raffles and stealing items from people. Upon checking his SteamRep, it seems that he has been banned after some reports against him.

If you are a victim of this Scamming case, please contact me ASAP. Will be great if you have screenshots as evidence.

Thanks for your time and do let more people know about this so we can stay away from the scammer.

Real KTRL: http://steamcommunity.com/id/kontrollita (found by going onto the SteamRep page listed on the fake one)

From my point of view, I'd say that CometX is just continuing to scam people, after being found out, by impersonating people now. I would suggest you don't do any business with him.

He told me CometX sold the account to him,

Common bullshit reply from scammers to whitewash their reputation. "Someone else scammed from this account, but I'm a different person and can still be trusted."

He is currently working on a template and a gambling site

Extremely dangerous here. Most of the scammers who steal for a living are involved in A impersonation (especially the "item checking" variant, usually impersonating a celebrity or rich trader from the main and admin/valve employee on the alt), B malware browser plugins, or C fake gambling sites; and will repeatedly cycle through whichever of these methods they think will work at a given time.

Does anyone know him or his background?

Looking at the SteamRep profile of your guy, his alt is marked for impersonation. That means you should ABSOLUTELY not trust any links he sends, especially anything claiming to be a gambling site, reputation, or any kind of program/plugin. Remember what I said about a/b/c? He's cycling through to C because he thinks that has a better chance of working. Oh, and given they usually impersonate from the main account before introducing a fake admin... should probably check for that. As someone else mentioned, he's impersonating a marketplace.tf seller.

He told me he just contacts people using Skype or e-mail for programming services before.

For most scammers, that's just them trying to get the conversation outside of Steam, since it gives them enough plausible deniability SteamRep can't properly investigate it. However, these career scammers really care little for SteamRep, so I suspect there's other reasons he's trying to drag you into Skype. Not sure about that.

Yeah, followed your advices. It was a close call that my friend almost got hacked :\ he sent a ".zip" file to me and I asked my friend if he could try it for himself. Luckily he wasn't able to download it. Wasn't aware he was marked on SteamRep for all I know, he is a programmer AKA trusted people.
