ArkanistCrook Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 So the last time I posted here, was asking for cheap bulids around 450$ but this might be the last thread about bulid recommendations before I start considering buying the parts. Looking for a bulid that can run games like Overwatch, Dark Souls, Metal Gear, etc smoothly (same as last time). Don't really plan to salvage anything from this computer expect maybe the 1TB hard drive. Please keep in mind that will be shipped to Australia incase that's relevant info? Well I hope it's not too much of a problem anyway.
Prof. TrollDemo Ph.D Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 I don't have a recommended build but MSY is usually the best/cheapest place to get your parts within australia apart from local sellers. That's where I've got the parts for my build from, except for my PSU, case and board.
Wingwire Posted July 24, 2016 Posted July 24, 2016 PC Case Gear and Umart are also well-priced options, but if you go for Umart just hope nothing's DOA because their return policy is god-awfulWhipped up this just now http://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/CfCb8KIt could do with some fine-tuning, but it's a start. I've gone a tad under to give you room to change it around a bit (better CPU, case, etc). I'm running the GTX 660 in my own PC (nearly identical performance to the 750ti) and I haven't found a game I can't run at acceptable framerates, so this should do you well. Salvaging hard drives from older builds is always a bit iffy, but if you do that leaves you open to a reasonable GPU upgrade. ArkanistCrook 1
AwesomeMcCoolName Posted July 25, 2016 Posted July 25, 2016 If you need to save some money, then I'd drop the SSD. The GPU is a filler for aftermarket 480/1060s. You can get a chopy of windows for $40~ from Kinguin, G2a, or reddit.com/softwareswap. An RX470 could also be a good option depending on its price and performance (when it launches in mid-late August last I heard). As far as the CPU, I have one of these https://www.amazon.com/Intel-Core-i5-4460-1150-BX80646I54460/dp/B00JIJUBAS, and it is a trooper. handles everything I throw at it, without a sweat.
