Zeuss Anus Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Here is what i wanna talk about People who suggest lowering prices so they can buy it for cheaper and they have NO proof This have been going for a really long time, i just wanna say that these kinds of people shouldn't have the ability to post price suggestions. To me its not a simple thing to ignore stuff like this, These people irritate me, No offense to anyone, I know most of these kinds of suggestions get closed, But why, Why should someone waste their time closing these suggestions when this whole situation could have been avoided, If you're one of these people who actually post suggestions to make profit, you and a scammer are on the same level "Scum Of TF2 Trading" I have no problem offending these kinds of people cause someone needs to say it, im excluding people who are new to Bp.tf cause these most of the new guys didn't mean to post a bad suggestion -Zeus

Really not sure what else you'd expect to get done.

AwesomeMcCoolName Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Im just asking these people not to even do it, doesn't that just make it simpler? And how do you propose doing that.....
Pyroman Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 And how do you propose doing that..... slapping the rules on their face?
@@@@@@ Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 slapping the rules on their face? we already tried that
Jymotion Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Im just asking these people not to even do it, doesn't that just make it simpler? sure. problem is, it isn't a known group of people that just make bad suggestions over and over again. it's people who are new to the site and make suggestions without bothering to check out any of the resources for how to properly do it. what's your idea of a solution, because I see no way to prevent it.
Pyroman Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 sure. problem is, it isn't a known group of people that just make bad suggestions over and over again. it's people who are new to the site and make suggestions without bothering to check out any of the resources for how to properly do it. what's your idea of a solution, because I see no way to prevent it. oh jy, it's been quite some time since I last have seen you either way, that's quite correct, most new people don't really check anything before doing suggestions

Make a restriction that does not allow you to make a price suggestion until you have correctly voted on X suggestions.
KingOfHeart Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 How much rep is needed before someone can post a price suggestion? Hope it's not 0. ^ and I agree with the poster above
F CHARLIE Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Make a restriction that does not allow you to make a price suggestion until you have correctly voted on X suggestions. I can get behind this. We already have restrictions on certain items one can suggest on (ie keys, items worth x amount above ur pack). We have restrictions on what items one can vote on. Those who want to make honest suggestions will be accepting of the logic. Kinda like probation.
MC22 Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 I suggested said idea a few weeks after the forums were erected some mod and regs came and shot down my idea
Jymotion Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 oh jy, it's been quite some time since I last have seen you o/ Make a restriction that does not allow you to make a price suggestion until you have correctly voted on X suggestions. could probably help. the idea of requiring a link or two has been brought up several times as well. the reason for not putting it into action is usually that they will always find a way around it. they'll just end up linking to the tf2outpost home page or google, or with your suggestion, they'll just vote yes on everything and do their suggestion an hour later. personally, I'd support obstacles for bad suggestions, but I'm not the one that would need to spend time coding it.
AwesomeMcCoolName Posted November 29, 2013 Posted November 29, 2013 Make a restriction that does not allow you to make a price suggestion until you have correctly voted on X suggestions. Honestly, i don't really agree with this. Voting can be a pain in the ass and also hard to get right if you don't understand the system, and the best way to figure stuff out is by doing. (e.g. my suggestion accuracy > voting accuracy). Rather than making people vote before being able to suggest, just force people to read through the guidelines of making a suggestion. Make a concise bullet point guide, and have each bullet point explained in detail at the bottom of the guide if someone doesn't understand exactly what it means. TL;DR forcing people to have a certain amount of contribution point before being able to suggest could easily be a deterrent. I honestly hate voting since at any time counter proof can be brought up. Also, even if the person provides plenty of valid proof, he could easily of skipped over tons of counter proof.
