Why is the key suggestion still up ?

What did you mean by this?  Possibly premature suggestions have been left open in the past in anticipation that they will be right soon enough (the price was rising predictably).  I don't see that applying here.

If a suggestion is not outright wrong and doesn't provide any proof whatsoever, it usually stays around for 12 hours~1 day. Currency just has a way of getting more votes and standing there so that everyone can see it, but most suggestions take around that time to get accepted/declined.

Alright, so the admins don't regard positive or negative votes at all when they accept or reject suggestions. That's good to know.

Only question is, why even have a voting system when it's not used? Why not just have one guy look over the suggestions, without the community's input, and follow his decisions, no matter how biased they are?

Key suggestions are not the rule, but rather the exception. People are reacting emotionally to key pices, and as such are voting on what they WANT prices to be rather than what they actually are. This is not the case outside of keys; votes are very important for the vast majority of suggestions.

Voting system is there to reward the voters. those who vote based on the market and not personal benefit get rewarded. Most of the voters on key suggestions, however, think that they can control the market with their votes.

So basically, most everything on backpack.tf is decided by the community. Oh yeah, except for the keys, one of TF2's most vital and debated items. Those are decided by administrators, most of which have backpacks full of keys.

I'm not pointing fingers, I'm not calling name, but this whole system  seems a bit flawed. The current key suggestion seems to cover the same idea pretty well too.

Let us pose a hypothetical. Say that a certain group of people want to increase the price of strange gunslingers. They get together a band of 1000 people, then make a price suggestion for a strange gunslinger to be 5 buds. They get every member to upvote the suggestion, resulting in 1000 upvotes. Let us say that the actual vote spread was 1000 up, 500 down. Should the new price of strange gunslingers be 5 buds?

Take another example. Remember when g.mauls were over a bud?

The voting system currently doesn't make a distinction between what a voter thinks the price should be, and what the actual sales are at. In this case, the majority of people want the price of keys to be 4 ref, but the vast amount of proof given by other users show that 4 ref is low.

Also, backpacks full of keys? I want some!

Hang on, does this mean I get a key? Long said "mother fuck" and "who the hell influencing key price now"... people could find that offensive, especially Geel9...

None of our prices are decided by community votes. The only time that votes come into play is when an admin goes against the votes. He or she has to state why he or she is going against the votes in that case.

No. Basically, the only item where people vote for the price they WANT it to be and not what the price actually is, is keys. the system isn't flawed, it's the people's double standard to vote for most of the items for the site's accuracy and points while voting for personal benefit or opinion on keys.

No matter what happens, even if that suggestion SOMEHOW passes, keys will keep rise. Why? Because nothing can stop "key for X ref + 1 scrap" machine on outpost. And nothing will stop dummies from following it on backpack.tf and calling it "reporting the price". Btw, long, would you just close the suggestion argumenting your desicionvy that laughable tf2finance link that nobody cares about except key sellers?

Pretty sure that logis has already been disproven by the fact that keys have appeared to stabilize....

If keys were rising solely because sellers were asking bptf+1 scrap, and then constantly upping their prices, how come keys appear to have level'd off?

If 5 days is considered "leveling off", with suggestions still flooding in by the moment, then god help us.
