Toad Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Does anyone know how this works? I signed up for the mobile authenticator thing about 9 days ago and my trades still get put on hold. I was told I should be confirming trades via email and/or phone, neither of which I have to do - I get a trade offer, I accept or decline it, and it gets put into escrow for 72 hours, I then get an email notification saying the trade has been completed. I followed the steps here https://support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=4440-RTUI-9218&auth=1c86b7ab548397998151b5e13518278e Any idea?
Mindacos Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 Either you have trade confirmation disabled(which you're required to have enabled), or the people you've traded with didn't have the authenticator on themselves. One or the other is most likely the case here.
Toad Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 not sure how to enable it, I went through all my settings and everything, steam even says to follow that page and i shoulda been fine
Mindacos Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 not sure how to enable it, I went through all my settings and everything, steam even says to follow that page and i shoulda been fine In the page it doesn't specify that you need to have trade confirmation on. On your profile, click Edit Settings, and then click on "My Privacy Settings". There should be the "confirmation of trades" option. Check if you have that disabled or enabled.
Toad Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 oh...didnt know you had to have confirmation of trades on...sigh, how annoying.
Toad Posted December 18, 2015 Author Posted December 18, 2015 even in the steam faq, it says you only need mobile authenticator active
Weedoof Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 even in the steam faq, it says you only need mobile authenticator active It's wrong, then. You need trade confirmations.
Tasty Salamanders Posted December 18, 2015 Posted December 18, 2015 The problem is terminology: When the FAQ says you need "mobile authentication" it means "mobile trade confirmations".
