Vintage price suggestions without Steam Marketplace Info

I've noticed that when price suggestions come up on Vintage items, no one seems to reference the Steam Marketplace where TONS of Vintage buying/selling goes on (ime, I'd say over half of the total vintage trades out there right now go through the Marketplace). It isn't that hard to run the numbers and translate (taking into account the fees of course) the cost from $ to game currency, such as Buds/Keys/Refined. With that said, shouldn't that be something that is referenced by the Mods when deciding whether to accept or deny a Vintage price suggestion? And If that is something the Mods currently do, should we make a note to inform the community to look for that additional info when doing pricing on any items available through the Steam Marketplace? If that is not taken into account, could someone explain objectively and in detail why the Marketplace, which has TONS of daily sales, is not used? Thanks everyone who reads this!! I'm just looking for some clarity here. :)

The marketplace isn't used as proof as prices rarely are the same between the market and regular trading. Also, when you base a price off of a market sale, do you use what the buyer paid or what the seller got? The price is supposed to reflect what buyers are willing to pay and what sellers are willing to sell for. In normal trading this isn't an issue as those two values are equal, but with the marketplace those two values are not equal. But the main reason is the marketplace is an entirely different type of trading. I.e. keys are $1.80-$1.90 right now, yet on the market place there $2.15 after fees ($2.46 before), yet i, and 99% of people will value keys at $1.80~.

The point of backpack.tf is to reflect the in-game values of items based only upon the prices of refined/keys/buds. That's why people buying/selling keys for cash aren't listed on key suggestions nor the same situation for buds. This also goes for not using TF2WH credit value to price items.
