Forum accounts MUST have a steam account linked

Please just add this. It prevents spam from alts (like mine) and another well-known user who's name I shall not say as this is not personal. Whilst this will not prevent spamming all together, it at least makes it harder to make such an account

Give me one good reason why not. A 'normal' bp.tf accounts is always linked to steam. Also, quit this 'I'm not heavylord' crap. You're more immature than long at his heigh days. Which is quite an achievement, but not one to be proud of

you don't need to be on steam to be on the forums.... 

 

Hes not saying that the forums should be run on steam, hes saying that you have to sign in through steam to get on the forums (i.e. not alt accounts).

The trading forum rules already require a linked steam account to use; http://forums.backpack.tf/index.php?/topic/73-important-trading-forum-rules/

 

Due to the way the forum software works, I do not think that mandatory steam integration is possible.

Perhaps allow only signups via Steam's OpenID thing. This would at least stop all the spam bots.
