TraL
Hi, Look like they are a new scam involving TeamSpeak error message to incite user to download trojan. Already two report from me: - http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/report-76561198013579471-none-no-items.110732/ - http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/report-76561198122617466-none-no-items.111720/ Really nice scam. Can be a good idea to put that on news on bp.tf Edit some more information from steamrep: - http://forums.steamrep.com/threads/a-fair-warning-to-some-competitive-cs-go-players.109312/ - https://www.reddit.com/r/pcmasterrace/comments/3bflec/attention_fake_ts3_server_tries_to_get_users/ - http://www.kotaku.com.au/2015/08/australian-csgo-player-gets-scammed-through-teamspeak-valve-returns-all-his-items/ (and all this link from better communities than here, and all seems "new" from August this year. TraL
he got hijacked mid sentence rip Teamspeak scams are old though. The one involving link to false teamSpeak download, yes. This one use your own regular teamspeak. That seems pretty new for me (and trending)
The Oddball
TeamSpeak server Trojans have been around forever. Just be weary of what servers you're joining, and make sure you can find the server from a reputable source.
knavesmith
The method may be different, but it is still the same general concept: a scammer tricks the victim into downloading malware.
w0lk
Not new, the scam exists since like 2009.

Jams
Like people have been saying, these aren't new. You just can't TRUST anyone, not even yourself. Expect that everything and anyone is somehow trying to screw you over, because if they do, you already had them figured out.
TraL
I often forgot how rude this communities is when you try to help them Perhaps this is not new (to be honest, I have a doubt about it), but what's "new" is that it become a new trending of this scam, and perhaps the "younger" trader was not as smart as you are. Did someone provide proof of this type of scam ? No, only sheep that meeeeeh that's not new. Good mentality

If you read the comments above you, you'd know it's been around for some time now. You just have to know, just like phish links and fake steam sites. It's just another scam method. If you fall for this, then it's the same mentality as you falling for a phish link.

TraL
Look like a pro CS player just lost 10.000$ to this "old" scam, and was refund by Valve. THIS IS NOT like phising link or fake steam website. The link is never displayed anywhere, and look like a regular TeamSpeak error message. Check the edit link on description. And I'm not fan of song, a hug will be enough ;p
NecroTed
Come on guys. Who cares if it's not a "new" scam or whatnot. I can tell you I almost fell for this trick a couple months back, until red flags where raised where they asked to turn off my IE antivirus or something. Before that, I have never heard of such scams. I don't think anyone has really talked much about it. At least he's trying to help, and I can guarantee you at least one person read this thread and learned this type of scam. Obvious or not, it's never useless to give reminders back to the community. This is especially as there may be some freshies or the newer members of the community who haven't heard this scam since "2009" or even phishing before. Probably ranted too much, whatever, I just woke up ^^

Syndaz
It's easy to avoid. Only use servers you know already are trusted and ones that have good reviews or good standing.

TraL
"From better communities than here" Well well... thanks for trying to help a community you consider inferior. Sorry for that edit, I just made the warning then a bunch of people said that it's old, easy to avoid, etc ... I was a little upset For the "Only use server you know", well that's my understanding that a lot of team have a personnal mumble/ts server. When you came to help that look "normal" to have a dedicated communication server...
