CourtneyWendysCommercials
I don't know if this topic has come up before, but i strongly believe there should be a rule outlawing hijacking trades on somebody else's trade thread. I mean, why is it okay for someone to come along and steal customers? Example: Bob makes a thread advertising that he is buying backpacks. Sally is interested. Sally and Bob make an agreement to purchase Sally's backpack for 5 keys. Smitty comes along, and is all like "lol fuck you, swag, i'll give you 5 keys and a refined" so Sally leaves Bob and Bob is sad. If a "wtb" thread is created, no other buyers should make trades via that thread.
knavesmith
Get rekt Bob. Sally is mine! >:U Trade hijacking is already a bannable offense on Outpost (and I believe Bazaar), so I don't see any reason why we shouldn't enforce such a rule. polar
I've talked to other mods about this before because outpost has this policy. I'm of the opinion that whatever is public information is exactly that - public. It's a free market. A diligent trader shouldn't be penalized for putting in extra effort. At least one other mod has said they believe that a person "owns" their own thread. It's fair to send a trade offer scooping the trade privately but not to do so in the thread itself. Obviously there is some level of etiquette among friends. But otherwise, I think anything is fair game in a free market.

Because X enforces Y isn't a reason to enforce the rule here too...

They also ban scammers, sharkers, people for swearing, users who comment on the absurd prices of other...etc If we banned people which other sites ban based off their rules like 80% of the forum would be gone. Imo it's fair game a user put ion the effort to make a trade and should be rewarded, also if they offered more sally would obviously sell to him which also keeps the market competitive which is a great thing. Means sellers can't sell for absurd prices, and buyers can't buy for absurdly low prices.
CourtneyWendysCommercials
Add the seller publicly all you want, but it's just wrong to comment on the thread, stealing a trade.
