etn
Title says it all. For example, a minimum of yellow belt is need to suggest on key or buds to prevent "omg economi iz ded" suggestions from people with 50 Ref backpacks. Probably a bad idea idk
Wooden House
or just have an idiot test that you have to pass before you can suggest anything. that'll negate your idea entirely and if people still make stupid suggestions you perma them
puddingkip
Some of our most excellent suggesters started out with currency. Having an arbitrary limit has really no benefits as closing stupid suggestions takes almost no time, yet it has a serious downside in that it may discourage otherwise excellent suggesters from suggesting. And in a way, we already have this in form of a multiplier and backpack value limits. People that do not understand the trading community tend to have lower value backpacks and as such can't suggest prices for expensive items. If a relatively poor person has shown (s)he actually does understand the way the economy works and has quite a few contribution points their voting and suggesting limit is multiplied

puddingkip
or there are some users who have made great currency suggestions and that's all they've ever done Yes, sort of what I meant. Kevin the Chicken God
Yes, sort of what I meant. I suck at writing coherent messages and getting my message across nah you got your message across, I was just differentiating between you saying "started out with currency" and the users who have only ever made 1 key suggestion and then they're done
CourtneyWendysCommercials
There are just as many suggestions like that for hats and unusuals, taking out that small bit of suggestions wouldn't change much
Edvis_Knife
@puddingkip belt level is a good thing for currency suggestons, in example, you must have 10 accepted suggestions, to be able to suggest currency prices. imo its the best way to fix these "zomg iconomi iz die, vote yes" EDIT: need a detection, when suggestion is made, if it has any links in it, then leave it to respond for mods, if it has no links, SYSTEM WOULD AUTOMTICALLY mark it as there is no evidence in a suggestion, and it would be closed immediately, as if there is no links = no evidence. These features would fix these manipulation suggestions and troll suggestions, and would not overload backpack.tf system, (as how someone of mods or even brad pointed out on april 1st, when people could do troll suggestions, and it overloaded backpack.tf and they will no more let do these type of suggestions on april 1st or any other day.) There are sometimes people who doesn't know how to suggest because he didn't take his time to read the rules or guidelines but is still willing to give out what their trade was. We can't risk people not suggesting anymore. Backpack.tf is dying with sometimes a lack of suggesting in 3 hours time (like today). If this is applied, more users will be not bothered to show what their trade was and therefore, no more new suggestions will be made. Since having to close suggestions doesn't bother any of the moderators, I don't really think that this should be applied. Backpack.tf handles suggestions manually for a reason. You can have a suggestion with exactly no evidence but then a kind guy comes up and provides all the information that actually supports the range. The current system is better, but I do appreciate your suggestion here. We can get free rep from those suggestions as well, especially for those newcomers, so I don't see why not. Here is an example of a suggestion which is accepted without any links: http://backpack.tf/vote/id/55e27ebbdea9e9e2488b4671
Kevin the Chicken God
-snip- also, for unusual suggestions, lots of times they report single sales and the unusuals ended up getting priced later on with those sales
ShadowMan
I don't even know how many times in different forms was this suggested. Here is an example of a suggestion which is accepted without any links: http://backpack.tf/vote/id/55e27ebbdea9e9e2488b4671 31%, polar pls -_-' EDIT: need a detection, when suggestion is made, if it has any links in it, then leave it to respond for mods, if it has no links, SYSTEM WOULD AUTOMTICALLY mark it as there is no evidence in a suggestion, and it would be closed immediately, What will stop me from putting 10 rickroll links? What will stop me from putting any old outpost links? Would be easily bypassed.
