Best 1v1?

Just wondering, what are your guy's a ideas for the best 1v1 loadout no random crits no heavies, dueling on 2fort bridge no jumping into water or going into bases

mine is pyro w/ degreaser, reserve shooter, and axtinguisher or powerjack

reasoning for this is :

If vs scout : he needs to get close to reliably damage you a lot, and your burn fucks him up a lot, and if he already used 2 jumps, fire -> airblast -> reserve will chunk him quite a bit

If vs soldier, you can reflect his rockets, and your reserve shooter will do more damage then his shotgun or bison

If vs another pyro, really depends on skill, but if he dosnt have a reserve shooter also you will most likely out damage him

If vs demo, you can reflect a lot of his crap, and if he has a shield, reserve mini crits always nice :)

If vs demoknight, your airblast will fuck up his charge, and there goes his crit, so should be a reasonably ez kill

If vs engi, .... k then

If vs medic .... k then

If vs sniper, dont let him jarate + bushwacka you because it does a crapload 0.0 I know personally :)

If vs a spy, just dont let him trickstab you, this can be done by airblasting him away and reserve shooting, dont let him revolver you down too by jumping and acting like the pyromaniac you are

If they are still alive, hit em with a axtinguisher minicrit and that will then rip the rest of the life from their bodies, RIP, unless you were really bad at hitting a reserve minicrit then you are just bad

Another niche I find fun is jarate+bushwacka on sniper :) 1shots anything besides maybe demoknight, but its just getting close enough to melee him

ofc then again it always ends up with skill xD

well youre beating them so much as pyro because its a small narrow corridor that soldiers cant jump in

they could jump from the other side of the river and not go in the bridge at all, just no going into water or into the base area*

the 2 forts, as they say

Definitely a scenario built for the pyro.

It's actually a lot easier than you think to line up a quick headshot w/ 2 smg shots with pyro. (pyro is the third easiest class to headshot for me. First being heavy, second being sniper. Pyro just has a big head)

Reserve shooter is a broken weapon as is and definitely needs a nerf, but a soldier with DH and decently good DM could probably mess with a pyro's ability to predict. I would say base jumper air strike but the reserve shooter would just tear that apart.

The CB with pyro flamethrower really hard counters a lot of classes, and the ability to deal mini crits upwards of 90 damage with the reserve shooter because someone is airborne is really broken. So yeah, a pyro would win in a small bridge situation for most classes, but in an open area I would say scooty booty man, sniper, or soldier.

Assuming the top of the bridge is fair play I could see a Scout using Soda Popper or FaN and Atomizer or a Soldier getting up there and really making it tough for the Pyro.

I would legitimately like to 1v1 you as a Scout :P I can kill mid-health targets from a long distance y'know~ Sandman+Guillotine ftw! <3

Sniper + Aimbot. ez.

Anyway, Sandman + Flying Guillotine should one-shot anyone, unless if the Pyro manages to airblast the ball (not sure whether the ball can even be airblast).

"Guys, which class is the best at close range? Oh, the class that was meant to be effective at close range with a broken loadout?"

In a 1v1 a Soldier could fuck up most pyros, the pyro can't get close to him because he can rocket jump, and Pyro's can't reflect some of the rockets that land next to them but still do splash damage.  Also if you bomb the pyro (jump and shoot 2 rockets), he can't reflect both most of the time.  Also soldier can Market Garden.  Probably the best soldier loadout in this scenario would be Stock + Shotgun (pyro can't reflect this) + Market Gardener / Escape plan

A pyro can easily CB when you go for a market garden.

Any decent pyro can also avoid one rocket while reflecting the other, really good pyros could even reflect airshot you. In nearly every situation pyro > soldier due to CB and reserve shooter.

A good pyro is a good pyro, but you can't reflect some shots. Just try this at good pyros:

1. Walk up to them without shooting

2. Second they reflect you shoot

3. Rinse n repeat

If the pyro starts WM1 ing you just shoot a rocket at a random time, since it's from close range they pyro has no time to reflect it. Only a lucking random reflect could save him.
