Rep system encouraging too much input

Maybe the star next to the suggester's name should be removed from the

suggestion box and I think since voting is basically useless, rep should

be given by the mods to the suggester upon acceptance of the price

suggestion. I'm not sure if anyone else agrees but I'm just brainstorming :P

That would a strenuous toll on the mods, whose work is hard enough already.

I don't see how it would be that much more work, they just deliver rep or whatever to the user who's suggestion they just accepted. Though I guess at that point you may as well redesign the entire system, which I don't think is the solution :/

This is a pretty general statement. I don't think I've ever made a proofless suggestion - I think I include more than I did when I started.

Like I said before, more suggestions is better than less

Unless it is for pricing like a UC wep with one buyer.

Shaqtus, long does not represent the rest of us blue belts.

http://backpack.tf/vote/id/513d13c44bd7b81502000009 - passed with 1 link of proof

If a person with a white or gold star made these suggestions with this proof do you think they would have passed?

As long as the suggestions are correct I see nothing wrong with it.

Whether they were lazily made or not, if they're accurate I'm okay with them being made/passing. After all, as much as the objective is to get more rep, they're still doing something beneficial, which is making the pricelist as accurate as possible.

But a lot of these just have 1/2 links of proof. Maybe if they find themselves claiming that those 1/2 links were the only ones on outpost, they should hold off on a suggestion instead of letting some bozo's trade set the price for an item.

As an orange belt I've done a few suggestions without much proof.

http://backpack.tf/vote/id/5117b707ba2536e54e000002 one single trade

http://backpack.tf/vote/id/5121644eba25369f15000001 three trades

http://backpack.tf/vote/id/513bc8d2ba25361c5e00001b four trades

Edit: Back to the topic. There is a limit on the amount of points you gain per suggestion. I think it's up to 15 points for upvotes>downvotes, and a 10 point bonus if the suggestion passes. So a 1000 vote key suggestion hardly affects rep. I can't remember if likes/dislikes affect your points. Correct me if I'm wrong on the numbers.

Please. Stahp. The main point of this is that the rep system encourages to much input and too many suggestions. People dont leave prices alone because they want to gain rep. The everyone upvotes the admins idea is in different topics go discuss there, I added it as an afterthought. Most blue belts have exellent proof and outstanding suggestions, with one notable exculsion.

What if it's in the Great Below? Is that OK? Or do I need to remove that as well?

I'm pretty sure the Great Below has only 1 rule, which is to not post any NSFW images or links.

So you're fine.

That's the part that concerns me. There's a lot of Prime Number haters out there in the world, and some of em get... violent.
